Strax didn't even need to turn around to know that things had gone too far.
"Daniela," he said in a low, firm tone, without raising his voice, "be quiet."
The effect was immediate… and completely the opposite of what he expected.
Daniela made an exaggerated pout, crossing her arms and moving a few inches away just to make the drama clear. Cassandra, in turn, arched an eyebrow and repeated the gesture, resting her chin on her hand, looking at him with an expression that was both offended and playfully provocative.
"How cruel," Daniela murmured theatrically. "We're trapped, bored, trying to pass the time…"
"And being interrupted by the tyrant of Asgard," Cassandra added, sighing exaggeratedly.
Strax closed his eyes for a second, taking a deep breath, clearly regretting whatever decision had led him to that specific moment in his existence. When he opened them again, however, something caught his attention.
A movement.
Too subtle to be casual.
