Chapter 358 - Chapter 358: A Runway Breakup, Spatial Disorientation, And The Loss Of A Legend!

"Hello there viewers...Keiko here again...*Keiko proceeds to say this while traditionally bowing to the viewers as usual. To which Keiko then proceeds to bring her attention and eyesight back up again, in order to continue to address the viewers. Keiko also now proceeds to briefly clear her throat, as Keiko then proceeds to continue, to properly address the viewers*...

Now then viewers, for this chapter I will once again be covering several more aviation accidents in history...And for this particular chapter viewers as like the last one, we will be covering another three of them...

And each of them, as shown by the chapter title of this particular chapter, is going to be covering one aviation accident, that was attributed to what is known as the 'black hole illusion'...

Another, will be attributed to what is known as a 'Spatial Disorientation'...

And the final one viewers, will be attributed to a case of 'Spatial Disorientation'...

...Now then viewers, lets begin with the first aviation accident...

And for this one, we will start by going all the way back, to August 16, 2010...

And on this particular day back in...AIRES Flight 8250...Which was a flight operated by AIRES between El Dorado International Airport, in Bogota, Colombia, over to Gustavo Rojas Pinilla International Airport in San Andreas, Colombia. The route in question at the time, was being operated by a Boeing 737-700...

On board Flight 8250, were two pilots, four flight attendants, and one-hundred and twenty-five passengers...

The captain of flight 8250, was 43 year old Wilson Gutierrez, and was the pilot flying, or PF. And the fist officer of flight 8250, was 25 year old Camilo Piñeros Rodriguez, who was the pilot monitoring, or PM...

And as for what wound up happening? Well on approach to land in San Andreas, the weather was very stormy. And in this case, this wound up with the two pilots misjudging aircraft's altitude during the last phase of the approach. As due to an illusion known as the 'Black Hole Illusion,' this wound up causing Flight 8250 to slam hard into the runway, break into several large sections, and would wind up only killing two passengers...

And now viewers, we will be moving onto the second aviation accident of this chapter...And for this one, we will be going all the way forward, to March 19, 2016...

And on this particular date Flydubai Flight 981, which at the time was being operated by a Boeing 737-800...

And was operating from Dubai International Airport in Dubai, over to Rostov-on-Don Airport in Rostov-on-Don, Russia...

On this particular flight, were two pilots, and five flight attendants. And on board with the seven crew, were 55 passengers...

The captain was 37-year-old Aristos Sokratous from Cyprus, who had over 6,000 hours of total flying time, including 4,905 hours on the Boeing 737. Sokratous was promoted to captain a year and a half before the crash. At the time of the crash, he intended to quit the airline after accepting a job from Ryanair that would allow him to return to be with his family in Cyprus. His wife was due to give birth to their first child a few weeks after the crash. According to several Flydubai staff members, Sokratous had decided to leave the airline mainly because of fatigue and lifestyle issues, and Flight 981 was one of his last flights with the airline...

The first officer, 36-year-old Alejandro Álava Cruz from Spain, who had more than 5,700 hours of flying time, with 1,100 on the Boeing 737. He began work with Flydubai in 2013 and had previously flown for two regional airlines in the Spanish Canary Islands, Binter Canarias and NAYSA, before joining the airline...

According to the final report by the Interstate Aviation Committee, the accident flight was both pilots first-ever flight to Rostov. The captain had experience flying into other Russian airports, but the first officer did not...

But sadly, Flight 981 would wound up crashing into Runway 22 at Rostov-on-Don Airport, with the high speed impact killing all seven crew, and 55 passengers on board. And as for the cause of the crash of Flight 981? Well similar to the pilots in the AIRES 8250 crash, captain Aristos Sokratous wound up suffering from what is known as a Somatogravic Illusion. Which in this case, the fluid in the ear winds up moving in such a way during in this case of what was an excessive pitch up attitude during a go around by Flight 981. This had caused the captain to be tricked into thinking that Flight 981 was pitching up more then it actually was. And in this case, this wound up leading to the captain, to apply an excessive nose down input to his control column. And he also wound up applying quite a bit of nose down elevator trim as well. Which in combination, was what wound up sending Flight 981 into the ground of Runway 22, at essentially full throttle...

And now viewers, we will be moving onto the third and final aviation accident of this chapter...And for this one, we will be going forward in time yet again, to January 26, 2020...

And on this particular date a Sikorsky S-76 Helicopter, registration N72EX, was being operated on a flight from John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, to Camarillo Airport in Camarillo, California...

On board the Sikorsky S-76 Helicopter were 8 passengers, and a single crew member...

Which in this case, among the 8 passengers, was legendary basketball player Kobe Bryant. The pilot was Ara Zobayan, and was an experienced pilot who worked for the company Island Express...

But tragically, during the flight over to Camarillo, the helicopter would wind up crashing into the New Millennium Loop Trail, on a hillside behind the headquarters of the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District. The cause of this particular crash, would wind up being attributed to another case of Spatial Disorientation. And the crash would wind up killing all 9 people on board, which included Kobe Bryant...

And finally viewers, though I have said this in many of these same chapters before...

I will once again reiterate, that I don't mean any sort of disrespect, to those whose lives were lost by either this tragedy, or those like it...

As the only reason why I am mentioning them in these fanfics, is to help preserve the legacy of those who were injured or killed in these tragedies...

And also, to make sure that those who lost people in these tragedies, have some sort of another way to remember their loved ones...

And now viewers, this now marks the end of this non action packed filler chapter...But you can look forward to things getting right back into the action in the next chapter...And so viewers, from me, Angel Bluebell, Zachary, Catherine, and everyone else in The Four Aces Alliance...We all look forward to seeing you lot in the next chapter...So viewers, see you all there, okay?...*Keiko proceeds to say this, which is also while Keiko is also proceeding to smile with both of her brown eyes closed, and this is also while Keiko currently has her head tilted to one side, in her usual very cute looking manner as well*"
