"Mom?" Shen Mao'an noticed the old lady's face didn't look right and went over to ask.
"Forget it!" Grandma Shen was a tough one and knew that even though her daughter was willing to be filial, she would never want to take care of her brother's children. It had been like this since Shen Jiayin was young, yet she and that child had managed to make it through on their own, hadn't they? The old lady rolled her eyes at her eldest daughter, "Mao'an, I know you have a good heart. However, Jiayin and I are more comfortable living in our old house. Tomorrow, I'll go back to the hometown. You've got a good heart, but don't blame me for not being able to help you with the kids."
Shen Mao'an watched as the old woman stormed out, feeling unhappy himself, and plopped down on the unmade bed. Her six-year-old daughter came over and asked, "Mom, is Sister Jiayin coming back?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Will she stay at our house?"
