Chapter 65 - Reveal of Assassins and next round

The God Father entered the hall, his voice cutting through the murmurs.

"Do you think we are fools? If one is a fraud, we will not approve. I know most of you rely on the Vivan family for blueprints, yet you still accuse others of fraud."

The gods fell silent, unable to respond.

The God Father continued, "You have rested well. Let us decide the fifth round." He drew from the lottery box. The chosen trial: Dance of Wings.

Fear rippled through the crowd. The Petvan family, masters of wing arts, were unmatched. This round would be brutal.

The Challenge Ahead

Kannan turned to Olivia. "When will we marry?"

Olivia frowned. "Don't be a simp. You won the last round by luck. If you win this one, I'll consider it."

Kannan grinned. "Then I will win. But what is wing art?"

Olivia explained, "It is the supreme art. It enhances weapons, martial physique, medicine, and skill levels, all with radiant holy colors. Superior to all other families. Judging by your expression, you will lose. Prepare 100,000 D-coins."

Kannan thought, I have temporary wings. I'll manage somehow.

Nightfall Intrigues

That night, assassins moved in shadows.

- A female god from the Petvan family entered the inn, stabbing a bed—only pillows lay there.

- Another assassin killed her, claiming, "Task entrusted by Vivan family accomplished."

- A third assassin slew the second, whispering, "Novan family's mission complete."

- A fourth assassin struck, saying, "Thivan family's task done," before being killed by a fifth, sent by the Cilvan family.

- Finally, a male assassin arrived, killing the last and reporting back to Petvan mansion: "I could not find our agent, but I killed Kannan's sister."

Yet the Zevan family was safe, dining joyfully at their former house. Dransart mused, They searched blindly, unaware of our true whereabouts.

Imperial Mansion Intrigue

Meanwhile, the blueprint judge presented Kannan's design to the God Father. "This blueprint describes a holy vehicle—converting holy potential into energy. It can be produced cheaply, allowing all gods to enjoy it. Approve mass production."

The God Father nodded. "Do it."

But as the judge left, he was assassinated by the God Father's own subordinate. The God Father sneered, "If such inventions are sold cheaply, I cannot live luxuriously. Next time, if this spreads, I will cleanse the Vivan family."

Unaware of the true creator, he believed the blueprint was published by rivals seeking victory.

Thus, the stage is set.

The assassins failed, the blueprint was silenced, and the Dance of Wings looms. Kannan must face the Petvan family's supremacy, with only temporary wings and cunning to guide him.
