Just when Wei Anning thought she was doomed, there was a flash before her eyes and someone held her. She heard a faint groan by her ear, so soft yet it nearly tore her heart apart.
"Leng Youchen!"
Wei Anning shouted, seeing him fall over her as those two raised their clubs to strike again.
Wei Anning's eyes stung with redness, feeling guilty for implicating him. She hurriedly grabbed a wooden stick and swung it out, releasing it to spin through the air and hit one of the assailants, forcing him back a few steps.
Wei Anning reached out to pull Leng Youchen behind her; her own death didn't matter, she could absolutely not drag him down.
However, her wrist was gripped by a warm, dry palm. He protected her again, facing the enemies with bare fists. In a low voice, he said, "Wei Anning, take this chance to escape and find someone to save me."
