"This is such bullshit..." groaned Vaust, collapsed on the ground with several of his teammates after Will walked directly into their ambush, dodging or directly tanking everything they threw at him.
"I wholeheartedly agree," responded Will, his expression and tone flat as he leveled his Runecaster at Vaust's forehead. He could sense the anger and resentment in the fiery-eyed youth's gaze, but as tempting as it was to throw the match out of spite for the unfair arrangement, he didn't want to deny his friends and teammates the glory of a gold medal.
*BANG*
Seeing Vaust break down into motes of red and purple light, a tired sigh escaped Will's throat. Fortunately, his probation ended with the term, so unless the King intervened, he should be able to rescind his participation in the Junior League until his fourth or fifth year. At least then, most of the participants would be Second-Grade, with a few outliers pushing Third, so his participation wouldn't be completely unfair...
