Ah, well, the moment was fun as it lasted. But now that the sports festival is over, I can go back to normal. Well, I can do it again next year, actually.
After the sports festival, it was back to normal school stuff. And this meant picking out a hero name and the internships.
Let's see, Tenya's brother should be hospitalized already. I'll be honest, I forgot about that. But anyways, the hero killer Stain. Oh, Stain, what will I do with you? You go on murderous rampages and leave people scarred for life. You've killed 17 heroes and injured 23 more. And that's what's been confirmed. Someone like that…can't be left alive. I don't care if he turns out better; a violent criminal like that deserves the death penalty, which is what he would get if he were to be arrested and tried in the court system.
And his reasoning? Flawed. Heroes only care about money, fame, and the attention they get for their heroic work. Therefore, they deserve to die. What kind of logic is that? Who cares if a hero does it for the money? You know why? Because at the end of the day, they still save lives. Look, the motives can be debated, but the results can't. I'd rather take a performative hero who saves lives than no hero at all.
I'll dispatch a few drones to Hosu City in case I don't get an internship in that area. Someone like that is too dangerous to be left alive.
But that's for later. Right now…it's time to pick a name.
"Alright, class, it's time to pick a codename. But I'm not suited for such a thing, so Midnight will help with this." Aizawa said before getting into his sleeping bag and falling asleep almost instantly. I wish I could fall asleep as fast as he does.
"Alright, I'll be here to approve your name and give you recommendations! Let's get this started! You'll present the names you pick in front of everyone!" Midnight handed out some boards and markers and passed them all along.
Let's see…I can pick a few options.
"Oh, I'll go first!" Mina went up to the class podium. "Alien Queen!"
That's such a cool name, I don't know why Midnight shut that down. Isn't an intimidating name supposed to be a good one?
Wait a second… something intimidating. USS Enterprise and USS New Jersey. Those two were a part of something that would make sense instead of just combining some of their nicknames. Hmm…a bit more troublesome than I expected.
"Super Murder Explosion King!" There goes Bakugo with his usual stuff. Okay, I think I got it. Well, I can change it in case I don't like it.
I wrote down my hero name on the board. I went up and presented it.
"The Big Blue Fleet Hero: Black Dragon."
"Oh? That's nice! Fits the name of your quirk and fits with your power! Approved!" Midnight said.
Nice. I went back to my seat and waited for the rest to come up with their names. I'm not going to bother "fixing" other people's names. That's none of my business.
(A few moments later)
Geez, Bakugo took so long, but it's finished.
"Okay, with your names approved by Midnight, it's time to get into the next important step of your hero career. Your internships. Here is the list of offers you have all received." The board lit up, and to no one's surprise, I had the most offers. Shoto and Bakugo were the only ones who matched up to me, and then it all fell off a cliff. Seeing such a difference is kind of crazy,
"As you can see, there is a lot of variation. Don't worry if you didn't receive any offers; you can intern with the heroes that have a partnership with the school. Make sure to select a good choice. There are third years here who have regretted whom they picked to intern for. You have two days to pick. Choose wisely." Aizawa explained to us.
Hmm…who should I pick? I guess I should see my offers first, right?

Oh well, let's see. Uwabami? Isn't she that model? And doesn't she have a thing for cute girls? Wait, no, that came out completely wrong. Well, she is attractive and on the older side, just how I like it, and the law here doesn't say it's wrong, but the age gap would still raise a few eyebrows, and then there's the heap of scandals. I shook my head to focus again. Oh, look, Mt. Lady also wants me. Well, she's also on the older side, and…alright, what's happening! I set the papers down and got up to clear my head. Why am I looking at them like…oh…I forgot I'm in a teenager's body again. And these hormones can act up a bit, which is what I think is happening.
No, no, maybe I'm overthinking it. Let's go back. I looked through the papers again and looked for heroes. When I see who I picked out…"They're all mature women! What the heck! Stupid brain and chemicals! Now is not the time for this! I need to decide based on where I could fit, not on who's the most attractive! There's a time and a place for this, and this isn't it!" I screamed out loud as I threw the stacks of paper at the wall, making everything scatter all over my dorm room.
"Oh, great, now I gotta clean this up," I muttered to myself as I started pocking things up, but then I noticed something. It was a hero that looked like a seal. "Selkie? Wait, isn't he the leader of that sea crew? What were they called? The Oki Mariner Crew? A hero that operates in water and sea-based environments? Hmm…this is an almost perfect choice."
Yeah, I think I got my internship picked out.
