Chapter 2 - Training and Talent Evolution System (rewrite)

When the Third Raikage finally reached the Hidden Cloud Village, the two gate guards stood frozen in shock. Their eyes widened, and one of them whispered, barely able to believe his eyes, "No way… Lord Raikage is alive!"

The Third Raikage smiled at the two guards. "Kashi, Kenishi — good to see you haven't been slacking on your duties. If you had, I'd have no choice but to punish you, and I don't think either of you would like the punishment that I had prepared for you."

Kashi and Kenishi are middle-aged men with tanned skin and sharp black eyes, both standing roughly 5.5 feet tall. Kashi is distinctly bald, his smooth head catching the light, while Kenishi carries a head of neat black hair.

Tears welled up in the eyes of both Kashi and Kenishi as they heard the Third Raikage's words. The Raikage's expression then hardened as he spoke in a firm tone,

"Kashi, go and summon the council at once—and notify the war council as well."

Both of them were shocked upon learning that the Third Raikage intended to summon the war council. However, Kashi quickly regained his composure. He gave the Third Raikage a firm nod before disappeared from his spot by using shunshin jutsu.

The Third Raikage then turned to Kenishi while gently placing Yoko on the ground. "Kenishi, I want you to take Yoko to the nearest orphanage and tell the caretaker to treat her with care. If she failed to do so, she will regretted. Is that clear?"

Kenishi nodded, and the Third Raikage turned to Yoko with a gentle smile.

"Don't worry, little Yoko. We'll see each other again soon. I just need to take care of a few things first."

Yoko smiled back and nodded, to the Third Raikage trusting his words.

Kenishi took Yoko's hand, and together they entered the Hidden Cloud Village, walking toward the nearest orphanage.

In front of the orphanage

Kenishi and Yoko arrived at the orphanage, where an elderly woman warmly welcomed them. Kenishi turned to her and said, "Caretaker, the Third Raikage has returned and entrusted little Yoko to your care. He made it very clear—you must take good care of her, or you'll have to answer to him."

The caretaker stiffened at the sound of the Third Raikage's order, her nerves evident. But when she turned to look at Yoko, her expression softened as she saw the little girl's charm. A warm smile spread across her face. "Leave this adorable little Yoko to me," she said kindly. "I promise to take excellent care of her."

Kenishi nodded in approval. He gently patted Yoko's head and smiled. "If you ever need anything, just ask the caretaker—or come find me at our village gate, little Yoko."

Yoko smiled and nodded at Kenishi. After he left, the caretaker led her to the orphanage's play area. There, the caretaker saw a tanned-skinned girl around Yoko's age. She smiled warmly and called out to her.

"Mabui, this is Yoko. Would you be a dear and show her around the orphanage?"

Mabui nodded with a smile. She was a tanned-skinned girl with green eyes and light gray hair.

The caretaker smiled at the two girls and excused herself once she saw Mabui agree to show Yoko around.

_______

With Mabui and Yoko

"Hey, my name is Mabui. What's your name?" Yoko smiled at her and replied, "My name is Yoko Ichimaru. Nice to meet you, Mabui."

Mabui smiled, and she started showing Yoko around the orphanage.

She showed Yoko the rooms where the orphans slept, as well as the dining hall, the library, and the playground.

Mabui then began explaining the rules of the orphanage. Once she had finished, she turned to Yoko with a smile. "Next week, a teacher from the Ninja Academy will come to the orphanage," she said. "We'll have the chance to join the academy and become shinobi. Are you planning to join? It's completely free."

Yoko nodded. "Yes, I want to become strong, so I'll join the academy." Mabui smiled, and together they returned to the orphanage playground to play together.

______

In The Raikage Office

The Third Raikage sat in his chair, recounting the story of how he had survived. Ay, his eldest son, widened his eyes in shock, and Bee, his younger son, did the same—though no one noticed, thanks to the sunglasses he was wearing.

The Third Raikage chuckled at his two sons' expressions, then turned serious and said to Ay, 'Listen, Ay, when little Yoko graduates from the academy, I want you to take her on as your apprentice."

Ay raised an eyebrow in surprise, about to speak, but Bee cut him off.

"Fool, you fool, don't you see, Little Yoko's got the ninja energy, A killer healer, she's on the rise, Shining like a star in the darkest skies. Super medical ninja, oh, she's the one, Bringing the cure while we're dodging the run, Oh yeah, watch her glow, yeah, she's the light, Healing the shadows, taking the flight!"

Both the Third Raikage and Ay's eyebrows twitched when they heard Bee start rapping, but the Third Raikage decided to explain his reasoning.

""In normal circumstances, I would agree with you, Bee. However, I believe Yoko is a special girl. Despite being only five years old, she already has chakra reserves comparable to a Chunin. Furthermore, when I sensed her chakra, my own reacted to it. That reaction indicates that she is capable of learning my Black Lightning jutsu."

Both Ay and Bee were taken aback by what they heard. After a moment, Ay nodded seriously to the Third Raikage, 'Alright, Father, I will take the little girl as my apprentice once she graduates from the academy."

Upon hearing Ay's acceptance, both Bee and the Third Raikage smiled. The Third Raikage then said to Ay, "I'll be counting on you to train her well when the time comes." Ay smirked and nodded in response.

 In The Orphanage Playground

Yoko sat alone on the playground, lost in her thoughts. "Alright… time to see if that system was real, or if I was just hallucinating when I healed Uncle, the Third Raikage."

Yoko opened her mouth and called out loudly, "System, can you hear me?" All the kids nearby turned to look at her, their faces filled with confusion. Seeing everyone staring, Yoko's cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Suddenly, Yoko heard the system's robotic voice echo inside her mind.

Host, there is no need to call out aloud. You only need to use your thoughts to communicate with me.

Yoko's cheeks flushed a deeper shade of red at the system's response. Just then, a dark green screen materialized in front of her, causing her eyes to widen in surprise. The system's robotic voice followed soon after, speaking directly into her head once again.

What you're seeing in front of you is the home panel of the Training and Talent Evolution System, and I will explain everything about the system to you now.

What you see in front of you is the home panel of the Training and Talent Evolution System.

The home panel has five main tags: Status, Shop, Quests, Evolution, and Training.

The host might unlock new tags in the future if certain conditions are met or if the host completed hidden quests.

The hidden quests will be explained to the host soon, so don't worry.

The host can access those tags through their thoughts, and the home panel can also be summoned simply by thinking about it.

If the host met certain conditions or accomplish an impressive feat, you may unlock new talents or receive a Golden Ticket. With this ticket, you get a chance to spin the Golden Roulette of Talents, and in some cases, you might even receive both rewards simultaneously.

You already have one Golden Ticket. To spin the Golden Roulette of Talents, focus your mind on the golden tag at the bottom-left corner of the panel. That's all you need—just use your thoughts to select it.

Yoko followed the system's instructions and selected the golden tag. Instantly, a massive golden roulette materialized before her eyes. The system's mechanical voice echoed in her mind once more:

Now, the host will need to use the golden ticket you earned. Focus your mind on the flashing golden button in the center of the roulette to start spinning it.

Yoko focused her mind and pressed the golden button. The roulette sprang to life, spinning faster and faster, its colors blurring into streaks of light. After a few tense seconds, it gradually slowed, and the arrow finally came to a stop. It landed on… a storm-release Kekkei genkei.

Yoko felt a warm, tingling sensation spread through every cell in her body. Her chakra surged and shifted, as though something deep within her was being rewritten. After a few moments, the warmth gradually faded, and her body settled into a new, unfamiliar equilibrium.

Then, the system robotic voice of the system echoed in her mind:

Congratulations, Host. You have obtained the Storm-Release Kekkei genkei. Now, I will begin explaining each segment of the system

In order to return back to the home panel, you will need to use your mind again. Give it a try host.

Yoko followed the system's instructions, and after a moment, she found herself back at the home panel.

Now, host, I will explain each segment. The Status segment displays your basic information and current status.

Yoko focused her mind on the Status tag, and instantly, all her information appeared before her.

Finally, there is the Evolution tag. This feature allows the host to evolve your talents once you meet certain conditions. Why not take a look, Host, so you can see exactly what I mean?

Yoko focused her mind on the Evolution tag. The screen in front of her shifted, and she began carefully reading the information displayed.

[1. To evolve your talent in medical art from very good talent to excellent talent, the host will need to invent 25 medicines, create 10 medical jutsus, and save 5 shinobi with medical jutsu from the brink of death.]

Yoko nodded after reading through the information, her excitement growing 'Ninjutsu sounded incredibly fascinating.' Just then, the system's mechanical voice echoed in her mind:

Host, if you ever have any questions, feel free to ask at anytime.

Yoko smiled and replied, "thank you system."

Yoko then decided to check out the system's shop. She focused her thoughts on the shop tag, and the panel shifted once again. A new screen appeared, displaying a wide variety of items—healing medicines, training tools, rare resources, and even manuals. Her eyes widened slightly as she scrolled through the list, realizing just how many options there were to help her grow stronger.

After that, Yoko turned her attention to the quest tag. As the panel shifted again, two available quests appeared before her:

1. Join the Ninja Academy – Reward: 5 Ninja Points

2. Become Rookie of the Year – Reward: 10 Ninja Points and +4 points to all basic stats.

Yoko closed the home panel and smiled softly. 'I'll do my best to become strong. I have a feeling this system will aid me in becoming a strong ninja.'
