"So it's Lady Wealth!" the Master of the Masked nodded respectfully towards Woken, "For the sake of the lady, let this matter rest here."
Velen naturally understood the principle of seizing the opportunity to de-escalate.
He was not prepared for an all-out war with the other side.
The Goddess of Wealth appeared to be neutral and fair, yet her words showed a strong bias, obviously taking sides.
If a fight truly broke out, the other party would surely ally against him, rather than supporting him.
After all, his thievery priesthood inherently conflicted with the other's wealth divine position.
Mask, the God of Thieves, was the only open enemy of the Goddess of Wealth, Woken, and as he stole the power of the Lord of Shadow, he had to endure hostility from his adversaries.
His audacious demands were perhaps a tactical strategy, aiming to hide his true intention – to rescue the imminently endangered Isca Yole City.
"Wait..." Gaven spoke again.
