The skin on her palm had already been worn raw, causing sharp pain with even the slightest movement. Chai Xinyan's tears welled up several times, but she forced them back.
Qin Xue was mainly responsible for gathering wood. By the time she had amassed a pile as high as a small hill, Chai Xinyan hadn't made any progress at all.

At the sound, Chai Xinyan looked up. Already in a bad mood and feeling upset, she glared irritably at Qin Xue for her indifferent tone.
Even though it was getting dark, Qin Xue could still see Chai Xinyan's obvious glare.
"The tasks were assigned by you, and the idea to use friction to start a fire was yours," Qin Xue said coldly, "I've finished my task; the rest is up to you."
