The sun was going down by the time Kiyomi was done burning the dead bodies, including that of the one person she had left in the realm.
It was by far the hardest thing she had ever done, and even she knew that recovery from such would take a really long time. She had tried her best.
Gods, she really had.
And now here she was, left to watch the ashes of the one she loved disappear into the winds that she had triggered herself. It was a cruel truth and fate, but it was a truth nonetheless.
The kingdom had lightened a bit since the morning that the decree had been made. And Kiyomi had lost count of whether it was daytime or even night at this point. Maybe it was another eclipse because of Sakura, but she didn't think too much to question it.
She had no strength left in her right now to even ask whatever questions lingered.
