Treasures of the east blue and defying fate: Cocoyashi village - In One Piece with a Gift from God

There were a total of ten devil fruit and devil fruit users Carter knew of in the east blue.

Luffy and the gomu gomu no mi, Eric and the kama kama no mi, Buggy and the bara bara no mi, Smoker and the moku moku no mi, Apis with the hiso hiso no mi, Alvida and the sube sube no mi, Ace with the mera mera no mi, Eldorado and the goe goe no mi, Bear king with the kachi kachi no mi, and Honey queen with the toro toro no mi.

He already had the latter three in his possession, Eric would never get the kama kama no mi because it is already his. Smoker was his senior by five years, Buggy was too important to kill and the thought of killing Luffy had never once entered his mind. That left Apis, Alvida, and Ace. What was important about these three is that Apis hadn't been born yet, and Alvida and Ace hadn't eaten their fruits at this time.

'Tracking down the Sube Sube no mi would probably be impossible, but with my [Kin of devils] I'll probably just stumble upon it while I'm in the east blue.' Carter thought as Dive slowly made her way to their destination.

They were taking Dive because Justice got tired of flying and she was now peacefully sleeping on the pokemon's cool shell.

Apis and Ace's fruits had confirmed locations. Apis had never left Warship island before she left in the anime meaning the Hiso hiso no mi was likely somewhere on the island, and the mera mera no mi was on Sixis island.

So that is why they were making their way to the ever growing form of Sixis island. Carter wanted to claim the mera mera no mi.

When they arrived, Justice took to the sky to search for the bird that had swallowed the chest that contained the mera mera no mi. Eventually she returned with the bird's carcass. Carter butchered it for a meal for all of them and took the chest from the bird's stomach.

Mera Mera no mi: Acquired.

After that they made their way to Warship island.

When they arrived, instead of heading straight to the island Carter decided to dive into the sea around the island. After all, in just six years the Senneryu would return to breed and die.

Plunging into the cold sea was a bit stressful for Carter, as a devil fruit user the instinctual fear of the ocean was still present. But the effect of the feather of the angel was true and he didn't feel even a bit of fatigue in the salty water.

He explored the dragon's nest at the bottom of the sea, coming up for air occasionally. He did eventually try to find some of the dragon bones said to hold one of the various keys to immortality in this world but all he found was rock. The bones having been fossilized long ago.

After a few hours of under-sea exploration he finally flew to the island. He searched high and low for the fruit, but he just couldn't find it. After three days of searching, he gave up.

'I guess the world want's Apis to have the fruit. I'll be back in six years anyway.'

A day later he accidentally flew head first into the Conomi islands. And this was a huge problem. He has wanted to keep the world as close to the original timeline as possible to keep his future knowledge accurate. But... He also despised pirates like Arlong. And he could sense the misery of the poor people of Cocoyashi village.

After a long thought, he finally decided...

"FUCK THE PLOT!"

The strawhats were made for each other, they would find each other regardless of his interference. Helping a few of them out is no problem for him. He already knows the weaknesses and abilities of most of the final antagonists. The plot had served him enough but now it was time to deviate!

His thoughts were only bolstered by a notification from the system.

'This is way too much!' Carter thought with wide eyes as he gazed at the system panel. 'Well my system is the 'world system'. It would make sense that tasks affecting the world and the timelines would give higher rewards.'

At first he still had some doubts but now he was all in for destroying the plot.

Carter gave a mental command to Justice who promptly followed it, diving down towards their clueless prey.

"Let's slaughter some fish."

Walking along the dusty streets of Cocoyashi Village was like walking through a prison, he could sense misery and dread with every muffled footfall.

The people eyed him with contempt, obviously their experience with the marines was not a very pleasant one because of that rat Nezumi.

Eventually he was approached by a man in a police uniform, absolutely covered in scars. 'Genzo' Carter recalled his name.

"What do you marines want this time?" Did Arlong send you to take even more from us?"He demanded with quiet outrage.

'Alright, I need to make this look convincing'

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Don't act like you don't know!" one of the villagers shouted. "That bastard Nezumi sent you to squeeze even more out of us didn't he?"

"Nezumi? As in Captain Nezumi of the 16th branch?" I asked with feigned curiosity. "I've never met the guy, I'm an HQ trainee on his bounty hunt. I heard Arlong had a pretty large sum on his head so I came to kill him."

The villagers still eyed him with suspicion but most of them realized that I was not with Nazumi so they eased off.

"I see," Genzo said as his shoulders visibly relaxed. "My apologies, Nezumi's marines have been working with the Arlong pirates to keep us oppressed."

"He's What!?" Carter shouted releasing a trickle of conquerors haki causing a small pressure on the surrounding civilians. "Marines are meant to uphold justice! Working with a pirate to oppress innocents is the highest treason!"

Carter easily bullshited his response making the villagers believe he was a lot more furious than he really was. He quickly restrained his aura and cleared his throat.

"*ahem!* sorry about that! I'll make a call to HQ as soon as I'm done with Arlong and have that bastard punished."

Carter immediately began walking in the direction of Arlong park.

"Wait! Are you going to challenge Arlong alone!? Kid you don't understand how powerful he is. He and his crew are fishmen! No one can stand against him!"

Genzo was honestly trying to look out for Carter. Being a person from east blue with no idea how large the world actually was, seeing what appeared to be a newly graduated kid trying to take on Arlong would seem like a death sentence.

Carter turned and gave the policeman a smile, "Thank you for the concern, but I think we will be fine."

"We? Are there other marines nearby?"

Carter smirked. "In a manner of speaking,"

Genzo looked confused until he heard something... he didn't quite know what they were but Carter recognised them instantly. Wingbeats.

Without missing a beat Carter jumped up into the sky with geppo, greatly shocking the villagers. If that wasn't enough, as soon as he began to fall a dark shape in the sky seemed to swoop in and snatched him from the sky. Revealing itself to be Justice.

The villagers stared gobsmacked at the Dragon, but none noticed one blue haired girl in particular run off in the direction of Arlong park.

Carter walked calmly into the grates of Arlong Park. he could see a multitude of fishmen looking at him with contempt but they were probably too wary of Justice to just charge in blindly.

"Oi, tell Arlong I got a message for him." he told the nearest fishman, who happened to be Chew.

"And why should I little human?" the prideful smelt whiting fishman demanded.

Carter Just sighed and snapped his fingers causing Justice to react. The surrounding fishmen were then treated to the Horrifying sight of one of Justice's tails plunging straight into Chew's chest.

The fishman coughed blood as the venomous barb pierced deep into his chest cavity. Justice then removed her tail but kept the tree venom filled appendages trained on the other fishermen.

"Bastard! What have you done to Chew-sama!?" one of the fishmen who had rushed to Chew's side demeaned.

"He's already dead." Carted stated with no emotion on his face. The sight was extremely underving to the fishmen for some reason. "That venom will cause slow and agonising death over the next three days before it finally snuffs him out. There is no cure. It'd be better to put him out of his misery."

"Now, are you going to get Arlong or not?" he said, tilting his head with feigned curiosity.

A few fishmen then dashed away towards Arlong Park to inform Arlong so Carter simply sat tight for the moment.

He didn't have to wait long as he was the hulking form of Arlong rampaging towards him followed closely by Kuroobi and Hachi, Kiribachi Arlong's 'Shark Saw blade' groped tightly in the fishman's gand.

"Human bastard! What have you done to Chew!?"

The humanoid fish charged at Carter with what anyone else would call blinding speed, however to him and his sharingan Arlong was moving slower than a light jogging pace.

As Arlong's Kiribachi slowly approached Carter he removed Akuma-Ketsujin from his inventory and paired the Zanbato blade in an instant.

Arlong's eyes widened as he was pushed back. 'This human, he's much stronger than his human body should allow.' he narrowed his eyes.

"So this is the strength of Arlong the saw?" Carter said with a nonchalant expression. "I must say, I'm disappointed."

As Arlong fumed and began to attack Carter once more, no one noticed a little girl with tangerine hair staring wide eyed at the battle. 'A human is fighting on equal ground as a fishman?'

"Nami!" the girl whipped around to see the blue haired girl from earlier.

"Nojiko!" Nami cried as she gave her sister a hug. "There's this man that came out of nowhere, and he's going toe to toe with the Arlong pirates!"

"I know! He's a marine from the marine HQ! He said he was here to kill Arlong and free us!"

Nami turned back to the fight in shock as Carter slammed his fist into Hachi's stomach, rocketing the octopus fishman away. 'Let's hope he wins,' she thought with hope.

Carter watched as Kuroobi charged towards him. "Hundred Brick Fist!" he shouted as he used his fishman karate.

But to his shock Carter mimicked his movements exactly. His sharingan spinning as it copied the technique. "Hundred Brick Fist!"

The two fists collided. Unfortunately for Kuroobi, Carter's body was an amalgam of an insanely resilient human, a Senju with a fully awakened sage body, and Ancient giant. Needless to say the base strength of a fishman cannot compare to a chimera like Carter.

When the two fists made contact, Carter's overwhelming physical power crushed Kuroobi's hand into a bloody pulp.

The fishman screamed in agony as he cradled his mangled limb. Without missing a beat, Carter raised his leg and delivered a kick to his opponent's face. Kuroobi was sent flying into the Arlong Park building.

"Kuroobi!" Arlong watched his comrade with concern. "Damn you human scum!"

It was at this point that most of the other members of the Arlong pirates showed up. Of course they would be no issue for Carter to take on alone but Carter wanted to test out some new techniques.

"Sha-hahaha! I'll admit you are much stronger than a normal human, but that will still not be enough to defeat an army of fishmen!" Arlong said with confidence in his race's strength.

"Hmm, that won't really be an issue but for the sake of your old comrades reputation i'll make this quick." Carter then clapped his hands together as chakra began to surround his body. "Wood release: Wood clone technique."

Roots and branches sprouted from Carter's body before breaking off and forming tinto four additional Carters.

"Huh!? Clones and they are made of wood!? This guy is a devil fruit user!"

"Use the sea! Get him into the water! Take him down!"

The horde of fishman charged at Carter and his clones.

However, they made two mistakes, the first was underestimating Carter, and the second was forgetting That Justice was still present.

The clones moved like a well oiled machine, slaughtering fishmen left and right, justice meanwhile began to do the same, her stingers pierced and metallic spines flew, lightning, fire and amber blasted all around Arlong park as the numbers of the fishman pirates diminished.

Time passed quickly and it was soon down to just Hachi, Kuroobi and Arlong himself. Hachi was bruised and battered, Kuroobi's fists were gone, only mangled flesh ramined. Many of his internal organs were crushed by his own techniques, Carter having copied many of them. Then there was Arlong himself.

"This is all you have?" Carter asked disdainfully as he held Kuroobi by the neck. "This is a disgrace to the fishman race." Carter clenched his fist and Arlong winced at the sickening crunch that emanated from Kuroobi's lifeless body as his neck was snapped.

Carter then approached Hachi. "Your soul isn't as stained with blood and tainted with darkness as the rest. This will be my one mercy today, I've already taught you a lesson. you're free to go."

'Hachi wasn't that bad of a guy in the series, and killing him would probably draw Rayleigh and Shakuyaku's ire.

Hachi looked apprehensively towards Arlong. "Just go, Hachi." the saw shark fishman said. "Don't die in vain." Arlong had accepted his fate, the human in front of him easily outclassed them all in every possible way.

Despite how cruel and ruthless he was towards humans he did genuinely care for his fishman comrades. If even one of his brothers could escape despite the mistake he had made in challenging this monster before him, he'd gladly give his life.

Hachi saw his captain's acceptance and nodded, diving into the sea and leaving.

" I must say," Carter said as he bent over Arlong to look the fish in the eye. "Pillaging innocents just because you can, Keeping little girls as slaves, believing you are better than everyone else simply because of your ancestry. When did you start acting like a celestial dragon Arlong?"

Arlong's eyes widened in abject horror. He wanted desperately to rage against the statement but after a moment of contemplation he realized of course, Carter was completely correct.

"You bring shame upon the name of Fisher Tiger."

Those were the last words that Arlong ever heard, as Carter slashed his sword through the fishman's neck. Ending him.

Carter flicked the blood from his sword and shook his head at the Fishman's corpse.

From behind him he could sense two presences, they carried no killing intent so he calmly turned around.

To his surprise he was looking at two little girls. It took him a moment but eventually their appearances tipped him off to who they were.

'My god. Nami was an adorable kid.'

Cater slowly walked toward the two little girls, but they barely acknowledged him, their eyes fixed on the corpse of the man that had made their liked hell.

They didn't stop staring at the body until Carter was less than a foot away from them. For a moment they looked at him with wonder, until they noticed that he was staring at the tattoo on nami's shoulder.

'D-does he think I'm one of them?' Nami thought with barely masked terror as she saw Carter hand begin to approach her head.

She was trembling and she squeezed her eyes tight. But she never felt the pain she had braced herself for. Instead she felt a soft touch on the top of her head.

She looked up to see Carter gently patting her head with a kind smile written across his face.

" By the tattoo on your arm I'm assuming Arlong was using you as some form of slave?" carter asked in a gentile voice. He noticed that he had come off a bit scary, he had just butchered a few dozen fishmen after all! So he wanted to seem as non-threatening as possible.

Nami looked at her shoulder with contempt. "Yes, " she said with a downcast expression. "He made me draw sea charts for him."

"Sea charts? He made a kid like you draw sea charts? Why would he do that?" Carter feigned ignorance. 'Of course I already know that she has nearly unrivaled navigation skills.'

"She has a good sense for navigation," Nojiko said, finally realizing that Carter meant them no harm.

Cater nodded and cast another glance at the tattoo on nami's shoulder. 'Maybe I could-'

"If you are willing to try something, I might be able to remove that tattoo for you."

Nami's head snapped up, "R-really?!" her eyes shone with hope. "You can get rid of it?"

Carter smiled. "I can, but I won't lie. It may be a little painful."

"I don't care about that! As long as I don't have to have this horrible thing I'll take it!"

She had been burdened with this mark for years now, if there was a way to get rid of it with just a bit of pain as a cost she would take it instantly.

Carter looked at the little girl with a trace of admiration. 'What a brave kid,'

"Alright, let me clean up this mess and I'll come find you in the village later." Carter said, gesturing for justice to come over. Nami and Nojiko became a little tense when the dragon approached.

Carter gave Justice a few mental commands then had her lower herself to nami and Nojiko's level. "This is Justice, she's one of my partners. She'll take you back to town while you wait for me."

The apprehension vanished from the little girl's eyes as Carter lifted them up and placed them on Justice's back.

After they were out of earshot Carter went around to nearly every fishman corpse and took a DNA sample from each. He also took Kiribachi, it was a Meito. A grade blade to be precise. He then entered Arlong park itself. He checked the weapons room and found nothing except a few mass produced katanas. He also found the location of their ship, The Shark Superb. Needless to say he was going to take it. Lastly he raided the Arlong pirates treasury and found nearly all of the stolen money that the fishmen had taken from cocoyashi village.

After exiting the building he turned and faced the place that had caused so many people suffering. 'May as well use this place as a test.' he thought as he slammed his hands together and began to rapidly gather chakra "Wood release secret technique: Nativity of a World of Trees!"

The ground and foundations of Arlong park burst apart and gave way to massive trees and roots that began to coil and impale the structure. The building groaned and creaked as trees crushed and absorbed the structure.

After a moment only a massive, majestic tree remained. And because he did not create these trees, unlike Hashirama he wasn't at the level yet. He just accelerated the growth of the tree species around him. And because the most common tree in this area was tangerine trees the massive tree was covered in large fruit with orange peels.

Seeing this, Carter gave a small smile and began walking down the dusty path back to Cocoyashi village.

'Hopefully this serves as some sort of revenge for you Bell-mère. You were a truly amazing woman, rest in price knowing your daughters will no longer be oppressed by the one that killed you.' He gave a silent prayer to the woman as he continued Down the dusty path

A while later he entered the village to see that it had transformed from the place with an aura of sorrow he had been before to a lively and warm atmosphere. Carter looked around with a smile on his face until someone noticed him.

"There he is! Our savior has returned!" someone shouted, drawing attention to Carter. 'This is gonna take a while' he thought as he was dragged into the festivities by the villagers.

After a few hours of celebrating, Nami and Nojiko had pulled Carter to their home to help Nami with her tattoo.

The three of them were sat around a small table. Nojiko was sitting across from Carter and Nami while Crater examined her arm. After Carter's examination he spoke.

"Alright, we can do this two ways. Option one: I can use my devil fruit to disassemble the skin of your shoulder and remove the ink then reassemble it. That option will hurt a lot for several days, And the second option: I dissemble the skin, change the design and reassemble it and it will feel a bit tender for a few hours."

Nami made the choice for the second option, as Carter had expected. She was a seriously tough and intelligent kid, but just a kid nonetheless, when faced with pain they will try to minimize it. So by her request, I reconfigured the ink into the shape of a pinwheel.

Having her part of her arm disassembled and modified took a bit out of nami so she went to bed, leaving only Carter and Nojiko awake.

"You two live here all alone?" he asked with feigned curiosity.

"Yes" the blue haired girl said with a downcast expression. "Nami and I are originally from the Oykot kingdom, I was an orphan during the war and I found her as a baby, crying in a field. Our mother; Bell-mère, was a marine and she found us and brought us here." she said with a touch of nostalgia in her eyes, but it vanished the next sentence. "Then Arlong came and killed her."

Cater reached over and placed his hand on the girl's head. "You and your sister are very strong. I'm sure your mother would be proud of you."

Tears welled up in Nojiko's eyes and Carter simply allowed her to vent all of her pent up emotion.
