Max began the inspection expecting someone to ask him for approval.
No one did.
Hizon and Veyrath met him at the future Undercity road with completed estimates, marked construction boundaries, and a disagreement they had already resolved.
The road would curve twice between the arrival route and the joint-instance entrance. Hizon had placed shop fronts along the inside of each bend. Veyrath had reserved the outside walls for defensive positions and gates capable of dividing the passage into three sections.
"He wanted storage under the western platform." Veyrath said.
"Empty space earns nothing." Hizon replied.
"Stored oil beneath a defensive position earns a fire."
Hizon pointed toward a separate structure marked farther from the gate.
"The oil goes there. The western platform holds stone, sand, and repair material."
