Chapter 290 - Mahiro, you have a fiancé[PS BONUS]

Chapter 290 - Mahiro, you have a fiancé!

Serafall's frivolous and playful antics left Sona feeling exasperated and helpless.

Especially after being scolded, Serafall's nonchalant demeanor pushed Sona to the brink of collapse.

"Sona-chan, you're too serious. Mahiro-chan clearly doesn't mind," Serafall said, pouting in mock dissatisfaction.

Then, as if struck by a revelation, she covered her mouth with one hand and grinned slyly.

"Wait, Sona-chan, are you jealous that I'm calling Mahiro-chan so affectionately?"

"No!"

Sona's stern face flushed pink, as if Serafall had hit a nerve.

She shouted, her voice betraying a hint of guilt.

Rias and Akeno exchanged amused glances, saying nothing.

"Sona-chan's too mean!" Serafall wailed, rubbing her eyes in a theatrical display of tears.

"Not only did you hide Class Observation Day from me, but now you're yelling at me."

"Your sister's heart is broken!"

"I just wish you'd act like a Maou and maintain some dignity."

"Please don't do anything that undermines your authority," Sona said, taking a deep breath to steady her serious tone.

"We're family, so who cares? Sona-chan's always making a big deal out of nothing," Serafall replied, sticking out her tongue with a carefree shrug.

"We haven't seen each other in so long, and Sona-chan won't even give her sister a hug."

"Always lecturing me like some old lady," Serafall continued, feigning a sulk.

"I'm in such a bad mood now, I might just wipe out the Angels and Fallen Angels!"

She waved her star-shaped cane dramatically, as if preparing to take flight.

"I can't tell if Serafall-sama is serious or joking," Akeno said, cradling her face with one hand, her eyes gleaming with amusement.

To onlookers, she seemed to relish the chaos.

"Sona's got it rough," Rias said, sighing with a mix of pity and resignation.

"Ugh!"

Sona let out a frustrated cry.

"Do whatever you want, sister. I'm done!"

With that, she turned and stormed off, fleeing the scene.

"Hey, we just reunited! Why's Sona-chan leaving?" Serafall called after her, though a satisfied glint sparkled in her eyes.

"Did she do that on purpose?" Mahiro asked Rias quietly.

"It's hard to say," Rias replied, rubbing her forehead.

"Their sisterly dynamic is… complicated."

"I'm not sure if sister Serafall's teasing Sona deliberately or if that's just how she is."

"Don't you think Sona-chan's serious face is adorable when she gets flustered?" Serafall said matter-of-factly, admitting her provocation with a grin.

"I'll admit, it's a side of Sona I haven't seen before," Mahiro said, nodding.

"By the way, Mahiro, thank you for saving Sona last time," Serafall said, her tone shifting to rare seriousness.

She dropped her playful demeanor, addressing him directly.

"If something had happened to Sona-chan, I don't know what I would've done."

"I was ready to obliterate the Fallen Angels!"

"Sona's always looked out for me. It was the least I could do," Mahiro replied humbly.

"Luckily, Sona was mostly unharmed when I got there."

"You're too modest," Serafall said, her eyes softening.

"Sona's been wanting to thank you, but she's too shy to find the right moment."

"In that case, let me, her sister, handle it," Serafall mused, tapping her chin thoughtfully.

"You're Rias's fiancé and the Red Dragon Emperor."

"Your status and influence in the underworld is already significant…"

Mahiro's strength and actions had already marked him as a figure of note in the Underworld.

"That's really not necessary," Mahiro said, shaking his head.

"I didn't save Sona for any reward."

"That's exactly why I'm worried," Serafall said, frowning.

After a moment of thought, her eyes lit up.

"How about I owe you a Maou's favor?"

"Sister Serafall!" Rias exclaimed, startled by the offer.

A Maou's favor was a rare and valuable boon, far surpassing most material rewards.

"If that's the case, can I use it now?" Mahiro asked, seeing Serafall's resolve.

"Of course," Serafall said, nodding.

She toned down her playful demeanor, and despite her magical girl outfit, a hint of her Maou authority shone through.

"I've heard Sona has a dream she's working toward," Mahiro said with a smile.

"I hope you, as a Maou, will support her dream unwaveringly, even if it one day conflicts with your own path."

"You're sure?"

Serafall asked, her eyes widening in disbelief.

"Absolutely. This favor belongs there," Mahiro said firmly.

In the past, a Maou's favor would have been invaluable.

But for Mahiro now, with his strength and arsenal of abilities, it was less critical.

If he faced a problem beyond his power, even a Maou like Serafall might not tip the scales.

"That's tricky," Serafall said, her brief aura of authority dissipating as she pouted.

"I wanted to use this favor for something grand, but it's still about Sona-chan in the end."

"If you feel bad, just treat me to dinner," Mahiro said casually.

"In the human world, friends help each other out and settle it with a meal."

"Deal!" Serafall said, pulling a phone from her pocket.

"Let's exchange contact info."

Mahiro stifled a chuckle at the gesture—Devils could communicate via magic, yet Serafall opted for a phone like a regular human.

He swapped contact details with her.

"I'm off to find Sona-chan!"

Serafall announced, turning to chase after her sister's footsteps.

"Mahiro, you have a fiancé," Rias said after Serafall left, poking his waist with a hint of jealousy.

From what Rias knew of Sona, if word of this exchange reached her, it might spark feelings for Mahiro.

"What, is the President joining us too?" Akeno teased, smiling mischievously.

"Don't worry, I see Sona as just a friend."
