The scary detective likes me... Me?
Ren was pulled to reality by a low laugh.
The silly Ren was too stunned by the confession that he did not even bother with the decade remark.
"Am I that scary?" Kade smiled.
Ren looked at the smiling Marshal but could not ignore the helplessness in those bright red eyes.
He instantly shut his mouth, a blush covering his cheek and spreading to his neck.
He wanted to smack himself. Who would blurt out his thoughts at a moment like this? Idiot!
"S-sorry. That slipped out of my mouth unintentionally." He spoke while cursing himself.
His remark only made Kade curl his lips more.
"It's okay. I didn't mean to blame you. Everyone thinks that I am scary. Is it my face?"
Now Kade looked genuinely confused.
Ren shook his head in denial. It really was not the face.
It was the oppressive aura emitting from every inch of the taller male that seemed to keep everyone at the edge.
