As they entered the VIP ward, Ren couldn't help but notice the collective ring of communicators from the group they had just left behind. The sound was almost synchronized, a bizarre symphony of notifications.
He glanced back, catching sight of people hurriedly checking their devices and exchanging worried glances.
Mira noticed his distraction and gave his shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "Don't bother with their crap. Focus only on your recovery and let me handle this for you."
He nodded as he secretly rolled his now free shoulder. Her grip sure was strong.
As Mira walked beside Ren, his gaze fell on the cub, busily looking at the screen interface. The system was engrossed in the task, and Ren's queries remained unanswered.
It was, at most, five minutes that he had spent on those people, yet he found himself drained of his strength. Those people deliberately waited at the entrance of his ward. They knew very well that it might be their only chance at finding him.
