Previously on Yu-Gi-Oh Duelist Showdown! Nick put his deck in his duel disk, and it activated. Jacob said, "If you lose to me, Jacob, Jenn's eliminator, you'll give me your coins as you said." Nick said, "I'll switch my prince into defense mode and take a shot at you with my catapult." Then Nick fired a cream pie at Jacob, and he lost 600 Life Points, bringing him down to 5100. Jacob said, "This is where it ends. Now, Red Gadget, attack him directly!" Then Red Gadget attacked Nick directly, and Nick lost 1300 Life Points, bringing him down to 0. Luna said, "No way." Frank said, "We'll find you and duel." Jacob said, "That's exactly what I'm counting on."
Frank said, "Jacob!" Jacob looked behind him and saw Frank. Frank said, "I challenge you to a duel to win back my friends' coins. They don't leave until tomorrow, so I still have one chance to defeat you." Jacob said, "Fine. If you win, I'll give back the coins I've won. But if you lose, you'll give me five coins so I can go to the finals." Frank agreed. Jacob said, "One other thing. We'll be dueling out on the pond." Jacob stood on one boat on the pond, and Frank stood on another, with Luna and Nick watching from inside his boat. Nick said, "Here we go." Jacob and Frank put their decks in their duel disks and activated them. Then their Life Points started at 8000, and they both simultaneously said, "Duel!" Jacob drew Berfomet, Gazelle, the King of Mythical Beasts, Monster Reincarnation, Swords of Revealing Light, and Dark Magician from his deck. Frank drew Space Villain, Delilah, Super Villain, Helga, Super Villain, The Speedster, Super Villain, Muffy, and Super Villain, Techno from his deck. Frank said, "I'll start." Frank drew Jake, The Secret Identity of Iceboy, from his deck and said, "With Jake, The Secret Identity of Iceboy (1700/1600) in Attack Mode. That ends my turn." Jacob drew Polymerization from his deck and said, "Not bad. But my card is better." Jacob showed Frank two of the monsters in his hand. Jacob said, "I fuse Gazelle, the King of Mythical Beasts, with Berfomet using Polymerization to create Chimera, the Flying Mythical Beast (2100/1800)." Frank said, "Uh oh, this isn't good." Luna and Nick gasped when they saw Chimera. Jacob said, "Now, go, pulverizing pounce." Chimera pounced on Jake, and Frank lost 400 Life Points, bringing him down to 7600.
Frank drew Circus Posey from his deck and said, "I play Circus Posey. This magic card will summon all monsters with the word 'circus' from my hand and deck straight to the field. So I summon Evil Circus Performer, Danny, the Animal Trainer (1700/1500), Evil Circus Performer, Roger the Lion Tamer (1600/1700), Evil Circus Performer, Sam the Strong Man (2300/1300), and Evil Circus Performer, Lina the Tightrope Walker (1900/1600). Next, I'll sacrifice Roger, the Lion Tamer, and Danny, the Animal Trainer, to summon Super Villain, Muffy (2500/1300) in Attack Mode. Destroy his Chimera." Then Muffy destroyed Chimera, the Flying Mythical Beast, and Jacob lost 400 Life Points, bringing him down to 7600. Jacob said, "Nice work. Now, watch this. When Chimera is destroyed, I can summon Berfomet (1500/1800) back from the graveyard. And I'll place him in defense mode." Frank said, "Fine, Lina, will you be so kind?" Lina spun around, kicked Berfomet with one foot, and destroyed him. Frank said, "Now, Sam, attack his Life Points directly." Then Sam attacked Jacob directly, and he lost 2300 Life Points, bringing him down to 5300. Nick and Luna cheered for Frank since he had been doing so well. Nick thought, "Frank's in this to win this. He must be thinking of what Joseph would do in this predicament." Luna thought, "Frank won that round, but Jacob's deck does have more surprises." Frank said, "That'll end my turn. Since my turn is over, Sam and Lina will return to my deck. Now, I can re-shuffle my deck." Frank took his deck out of his duel disk, re-shuffled it, and put it back.
Jacob drew Dark Renewal from his deck and said, "Ok, I play this face down. Now I play Monster Reincarnation. Now, by discarding one card, I return one monster card from my graveyard and put it in my hand." Jacob threw away his Dark Magician and brought back Gazelle, the King of Mythical Beasts, into his hand. Jacob showed Frank what card he chose and said, "Gazelle, the King of Mythical Beasts (1500/1200), return now in defense mode. Now I activate the magic card: Swords of Revealing Light." Then, a light flashed on Frank, Nick, and Luna, trapping them in a cage of light beams shaped like swords. Frank said, "What's this?" Jacob said, "A monster shield. For three turns, your monsters are useless." Frank said, "Three turns. Oh, man. I've got to find a way to break that spell." Frank drew Mystical Space Typhoon from his deck, saying, "And it looks like I just did. Mystical Space Typhoon. Destroy The Swords of Revealing Light." Then Mystical Space Typhoon blew away the Swords of Revealing Light, breaking Frank's monster free. Frank said, "Now that my monsters are free, I'll attack you directly again. But first, I have to take care of your defense. So I summon Space Villain, Delilah (1700/1200) in Attack Mode. Jacob said, "Not so fast, I have a trap. Dark Renewal. This trap activates when you make a summoning. Now, by sacrificing one of your monsters and one of my own, I can bring back a spellcaster-type monster from my graveyard."
Luna said, "That's not good." Frank said, "Relax, Luna. It won't work. The only monsters he has in his graveyard are Chimera and Berfomet. Jacob said, "Are you sure? What about when I played Monster Reincarnation?" Frank looked back and remembered he had sent one card to the graveyard to bring back Gazelle. Frank said, "Oh, yeah." Jacob said, "Now, to bring back that spellcaster. I sacrifice my Gazelle and your Delilah to summon the Dark Magician (2500/2100)." The Dark Magician then returned to the field. Frank said, "Amazing, The Dark Magician is the star of Yugi's deck. Too bad he'll have to go." Jacob said, "That's if you have a card that can do it, but both our monsters are evenly matched." Frank said, "Fine. I'll end my turn." Jacob drew Thousand Knives from his deck and said, "I activate the magic card: Thousand Knives. When this magic card is played with Dark Magician, it destroys any of your monsters. Like your Muffy." Frank said, "No, not her." Dark Magician then threw knives at Delilah and destroyed her. Jacob said, "And if you're so starstruck to see The Dark Magician, let's see how you like getting struck. Dark Magician, attack!" Dark Magician attacked Frank directly, and he lost 2500 Life Points, bringing him down to 5100. Nick said, "Looks like two can play Frank's game." Luna said, "But Jacob played it better; he's down by 200 points."
Frank drew Super Villain, Yuck from his deck and said, "I play a monster in defense mode. That ends my turn." Jacob drew Dedication Through Light and Darkness from his deck and said, "Dark Magician, attack!" The Dark Magician destroyed Yuck, and Frank sent him to the graveyard. Jacob said, "That ends my turn." Frank drew Eye of the Dragon from his deck and said, "I lay 1 card face down and end my turn." Jacob drew Magician of Black Chaos from his deck and said, "I play Dedication Through Light and Darkness. This lets me sacrifice my Dark Magician to summon The Magician of Black Chaos (2800/2600). And now I'll activate my duel armor to become him." Then Jacob merged with the Magician of Black Chaos, and Jacob became him. Once Jacob had his magic wand, he got ready to attack. Jacob said, "Now I'll attack you directly!" Then Frank lost 2800 Life Points, bringing him down to 2300. Jacob said, "That ends my turn."
Frank drew Pot of Greed and said, "Excellent, I drew Pot of Greed. This lets me draw two cards." Frank drew Rise of The Super Crew and Brave Attack from his deck, saying, "And they're two sweet ones. I play Rise of the Super Crew. This lets me summon each member of The Super Crew to the field. So say hello to Super Villain, Lancer (1650/1600), Super Villain, The Archer (1600/1600), Super Villain, Serpent (1800/1750), and Super Villain, Cordelia (1950/1950)." Jacob said, "Ha, none of your monsters can withstand me." Luna said, "He's right. Those monsters are too weak." Frank said, "Not with this card, they're not. I play Brave Attack. Now, I'll attack you with Lancer and Serpent. And when Lancer attacks, he turns into Lancer the Dragon (1850/1650)." Then, Lancer and Serpent attacked Jacob and destroyed themselves and Jacob's armor. Once they did, Jacob lost 2800 Life Points, which brought him down to 2500. When Jacob saw his armor gone, he got confused. Jacob said, "My armor's gone? But how? Your monsters are too weak." Frank said, "True, but I played my Brave Attack card. That means the attack points of the two monsters I attacked with get added together." Luna said, "So, since he attacked Jacob with a monster with 1800 attack points and another with 1850 attack points." Nick said, "That gave Frank's monsters 3650 attack points." Frank said, "And that's enough to destroy your Magician of Black Chaos. And since you merged with him using your armor, the attack points of that monster got dealt right out of your Life Points." Nick and Luna both cheered for Frank. Nick said, "And now they're almost even again."
Frank said, "And since you have no monsters left to defend. And I have two monsters left on the field; it looks like I'm the victor. Go, Cordelia and The Archer, destroy Jacob and his Life Points." Cordelia first attacked Jacob, and he lost 1950 Life Points, bringing him down to 550. Then, the Archer shot an arrow at Jacob, and he lost 1600 Life Points, bringing him down to 0. Frank said, "It's over. I've won." Jacob said, "No, impossible." Jacob then fell into his boat and became unconscious. While he was down, Frank got back Nick's seven coins and Luna's six coins. Then he returned them and rowed them back to shore.
Once they got back to shore, Luna talked with Frank and Nick. Frank reached his hand out toward Luna and said, "Here. These coins are yours." Luna thought about it and was having a tough time deciding. Frank said, "They're yours; take them." Nick said, "Go on, you deserve them." Luna took the coins and said, "Thanks. I had a hard time accepting them. I didn't think I could because I fought my own battles. So here." Luna gave one of her coins to Frank and said, "You deserve this one. You beat Jacob fair and square." Frank said, "Really?" Luna nodded yes, and Frank added the one coin she gave him to his seven, giving him eight. Nick said, "You know what? You both deserve to be here." Nick pointed at Luna and said, "You were a worthy opponent." Nick then pointed at Frank, saying, "And you fight when it matters most. Like just now. You both might make it to the finals. But of course, at least one or both of you will have to face Joseph in the finals. Because you saw how good he is, he's making it to the finals." Luna said, "We'll see about that." Luna walked off, and Frank and Nick went to check on Joseph.
