I was alone in a dark space.
It was a trippy, confusing experience. I looked down and saw my own reflection in the perfectly still black water, which I had been kneeling in this entire time. Every subtle move I made sent an echoing, liquid sound into the infinite void. Up, down, left, and right—nothing but darkness and the sensation of water soaking my trousers and filling my shoes.
"Hello?"
I knew I was dreaming, yet the sensory input felt hyper-real. I closed my eyes and opened them quickly, but I was still there.
Then I heard footsteps, heavy and slow, but I couldn't make out where they came from. Maybe they came from all around me.
""...You're too young. You need more time.""
A strange, low bass voice came out from the darkness, distinctly female, carrying a sound of immense weight and patience.
"Hello!" I called out, my voice sounding thin and small.
