In the study, Cheng Zhiming stood with his arms folded, leaning slantwise by the window, his gaze fixed on the tall and the small out in the garden.
Mu Xinlan patiently and gently kept Angel company, playing those childish, boring games with her. The expression on her face made Cheng Zhiming a little lost in watching.
He'd seen plenty of pretty women. Mu Xinlan might not be the sort of beauty that could topple cities and nations, but she had a kind of temperament that just made people feel comfortable.
"Aunt Xinlan, can we give the kitty a bath now?"
Angel grabbed the kitten out of its little nest and rubbed its fur with her hands. "Look, its fur is all dirty! It must be feeling really uncomfortable!"
"Sure!"
Mu Xinlan took the kitten. "Are we washing it in that basin?"
"Yeah, that's the special basin just for the kitty!"
Angel pointed at a water tap and said, "Aunt Chen always runs warm water straight from here to give the kitty a bath!"
