Beside the stage stood enormous projection screens, clearly prepared to stream the performance so that those standing far at the back could still see.
Many people had arrived since early morning just to secure places closer to the stage.
Because it was still winter and the ceremony was held outdoors, thermal runes had been set up beforehand to warm the area.
When the clock struck five, the host and hostess for the New Year Ceremony stepped onto the stage and took their positions at the center.
