Professor Meir clasped her hands behind her back and rocked lightly on her heels.
"And now~ our resident scholar."
Her eyes curved into crescents, her smile as bright as ever.
Juno froze.
He was still kneeling on the ground, carefully collecting the shattered remains of his flask like they were priceless relics. He even tried to salvage the remaining liquid with a thin glass tube.
Several classmates stared.
He ignored them completely.
Professor Meir leaned down slightly, still smiling.
"You labeled your vials."
Juno stiffened, afraid that the smiling tiger would step on his vials.
Of course he labeled them. Proper categorization prevented reaction overlap.
"Oxidative Phase A, Mana-Corrosion Variant Three," she read from a shard with clear delight. "You even adjusted the viscosity for throwing arc."
Juno pushed his glasses up. "…Yes."
She beamed.
"That's adorable."
His ears turned red.
Professor Meir straightened and tapped her spear lightly against her shoulder.
