Neil had once told Sharon to stay away from him, worried that his colleagues would think it embarrassing if they found out that a big man like him had hired a female bodyguard.
Yet on the very first day he returned to work, Sharon stormed into the law firm and beat up Ford.
As a result, everyone in the firm,from the boss and shareholders to the cleaning lady knew he had a female bodyguard. At this point, it didn't matter whether Sharon stayed close to him or not.
Since Sharon was determined to study law on her own, Neil decided he was willing to help her.
The cold wave had arrived. That morning at work, even colleagues who usually rode electric bikes commented, "The weather's getting colder and colder. I really envy those who drive."
Sharon hesitated. "If I go to the boss's office and take his car, won't that be too much trouble for him?"
"No trouble at all. I'm heading back to work anyway." Without giving Sharon a chance to refuse, Neil left the coffee shop.
