After hearing Sharon's words, Neil had only one thought in his heart:
Is this girl too naïve?
All that "best person," "most important after family," and "will stand in front of the boss even if there are bullets" talk she sounded so silly.
I must have been in the army too long…
Neil lowered his eyes slightly and smiled, not taking her words seriously. But it didn't dampen his mood,if anything, Sharon's words made the atmosphere feel softer and lighter.
Since Neil didn't ask any more questions, Sharon didn't say anything either.
The two sat side by side on a bench under the eaves, staring at the vast night sky, each lost in their own thoughts.
After an unknown amount of time, Neil suddenly felt a weight on his shoulder.
He turned his head and saw Sharon asleep.
She had been drenched in the rain all afternoon, and after a hot bath, the dizziness set in. She couldn't hold on any longer.
