Liam finished his training and left.
The vice-captain remained where he was and informed Kendall and the others that they would undergo two months of special training.
Each person was assigned 120 points. Points would be deducted for mistakes, for falling behind in training, and for any other failures. The first to reach zero points would be the first to be eliminated.
After the announcement, one of the instructors from the Special Forces led Kendall and the others to the dormitory.
Before allowing them to enter, he had everyone line up in a straight line and, with a stern face, introduced the rules:
"From today onward, you have no names, only numbers. The person at the front is Number One, followed by Number Two, and so on.
Breakfast is at 6:00 AM, lunch at 12:00 noon, and dinner at 6:00 PM. Lights out at 9:00 PM.
You are not allowed to enter the dormitory or go downstairs without permission, and you are forbidden to interact with the base's permanent personnel.
