Third Person's POV
A strange warmth bloomed in her chest… spreading slowly, curling like smoke through every inch of her body.
There was a gentleness soaking into her skin… an unwanted, unfamiliar softness that wrapped itself around her like silk she couldn't tear off.
Her eyes were wide, shimmering. Her entire body trembled, barely holding itself together, and tears threatened to spill without mercy.
Her tail—once proud, always flicking with seductive fire and teasing defiance—now drooped down, lifeless… defeated.
She bit her lower lip hard, sinking her fangs in just enough to taste her own blood. It grounded her, just barely.
Her heart fluttered. Not with joy. It was painful. Like it wanted to take off, but her chest was a cage. A beautiful, aching cage.
She wanted to say it.
The words hovered right there, so close they burned the edge of her tongue.
She really wanted to say them.
But they were heavy.
Too heavy.
