Thirty minutes prior.
Kai carefully tucked a blanket over Elysia, as Ray slowly whispered from behind; asking how he manages to make up random scenarios so easily. Kai simply turned back, giving a small smile. As his lips slightly parted, he said it's not anything random.
But Ray tilted his head; asking if what he said was true.
"It's 50/50."
Kai said. But this just made Ray more confused, making him wonder which part of Kai's story to Elysia was true. But then, Kai said that the plan he made for them to investigate the store is cancelled. Now, Kai plans to go back to the mansion alone and reveal everything about himself so the situation doesn't escalate. To this revelation, Ray asks if Kai will actually tell them the truth or make up some lie again.
"I'll see what I can do. Hopefully, things do settle well and nothing much happens after that. But for now, boys' night out is cancelled."
Kai changed the plans, as Ray sighed with a hint of disappointment. Then he slowly came forward, putting his arm around Kai's neck as he asked with a smile;
"Well, that's your choice so I won't stop you. But since you will be staying here tonight, tell me about what you would like for dinner?"
Ray smiled at him, as Kai responded in a half joking tone. "Chicken egg rolls," Kai said so, as Ray asked what's that. But just then, both Kai's and Ray's earpiece had a buzzing sound. Ray was confused, but Kai already anticipated what the buzzing was about.
"Don't cancel your plan Kai,"
A woman's voice, clear and resolute was heard by both Kai and Ray. Ray was confused, asking Kai whose voice was that. But Kai didn't respond to him, rather he smirked as he whispered.
"So, you came again huh," Kai stands firm; while slowly asking if she's been observing him like a stalker to know about the plans he made. But the voice on the other side kept insisting for Kai to not cancel his plan to investigate the café. Kai asked her to answer his question first; but the voice kept ignoring that. While Kai kept asking, Ray could only listen to the conversation between them wondering what was happening.
Seeing that the person on the other side won't listen to him, Kai sighed as he said that he has no other choice. Saying so, he pulled out an object; a rectangular glass piece which glowered with different letters and symbol in it's interface like a smartphone. Swiftly running his fingers, Kai tapped on a blue button that appeared as he whispered;
"Now let's see where you are."
But then the woman's voice called out; asking Kai to not look for her. But it was too late. Kai had already pressed the button and a scanner like wave began to form around their surroundings. Ray asked Kai what was happening, when suddenly a sound of shock-circuit came from the other side of the palace. Ray quickly moved to the window looking out, as Kai too observed from behind.
As the two looked out, they saw a figure slowly appearing on top of the roof. Dressed in a cloak, with her left hand raised to cover her face. In the wind, her crimson hair slowly flowed as she slowly opened her eyes through her fingers looking at Kai and Ray. She quickly pulled the cloak to her face, only her emerald eyes visible as she now looked straight at the two.
Ray watched the woman look at them; slightly feeling that he knew her but couldn't get who she was. Then he noticed the same earpiece on her ear which he had as well. Looking at Kai, he wanted to ask; but the woman's voice cut in again.
"Please, listen to me. I'm not your enemy. Just-"
But then Kai asked in between; who she really was if not an enemy. The woman paused for a while, but then slowly responded that time will answer everything.
"Now is not the time to talk. If you two won't go out tonight for investigating the café, lots of innocent lives and a future hero will be in danger."
"A future hero?"
Ray wondered what she meant by that; but the woman kept on saying that they must get as much information they can get from their investigation. But in a serious tone, she asked Kai to search the basement thoroughly.
To this, Kai narrowed his eyes, tapping on the table by his side. He then opened his mouth to ask something, but the woman slowly began to vanish in front of him. Ray was surprised, asking Kai what to do; but Kai simple shake his head. And in just a few seconds, the woman disappeared right in front of the two.
After a while, as the night began. Kai and Ray both sat in silence, with Ray laying on the bed while Kai sat on his wheelchair; solving his cube.
"That woman… who is she?"
Ray spoke first, while Kai kept on with the cube. Ray kept talking to himself; asking how come she has the same earpiece as him.
"Let's keep that talk aside. There's something more concerning than her identity; the innocent lives she spoke of. And who's that future hero she talked about?"
Kai spoke up, placing down the cube as he looked at Ray. To his statement, Ray shoots up from the bed. Ray tilted his head, gazing upward while his hand gestured to rubbing his chin. Thinking for a while, Ray just sighed heavily as he said that this whole situation is just getting more and more messier.
As Ray ruffled with his hair, Kai looked outside as the night had begun. His mind filled with questions, with a lot of theories on the mysterious woman as well. But just then, Lala knocked on the door. Ray responded to her call, as she first asked if Elysia and Kai were there. After confirming, she said that the dinner will be ready soon so they should come in a bit.
After an hour, everyone was in seated while enjoying the dinner. Nino and Ray were happily feeding each other, as they sat next to each other. While next to them, Ana and Elysia were chatting, as Ana asked where Elysia was before dinner. Careful with her words, Elysia simply responded with a smile that she was playing with Kai and Ray in the other room and later fell asleep. Opposite to the four, Kai and Mono sat; chewing on their food while staring daggers at Ray and Nino. The two had the same thought going on their mind;
"Stop being all lovey-dovey and focus on the dinner, you idiot!"
But they didn't speak that out loud, just continued with staring daggers at them. Just then, Maximus and Celestina entered the room as the two announced that the two of them will be going to meet Hiro and Sakura, and might be late to return. To the announcement, everyone fell silent as they knew what was going on; except for Elysia and Ana. Maximus continued, saying not to worry and asked them to sleep on time.
Another hour passed by after the announcement during dinner. Everyone by then entered their rooms, getting ready for some sleep; except for the two. Ray and Kai stood on top of the palace, looking out towards the capital city. Ray slowly turned to Kai with a smirk, asking;
"You ready for this?"
"You're asking that to me, the one who came up with this whole plan?"
Kai replied with a soft chuckle as he pulled out his pocket watch. Looking it over, Kai pulled it back inside as he told Ray that it's time.
Around the same time, in the capital city. The whole city was in a chaos; all the woman in the city were in some kind of mind control. Suddenly walking out of their houses; from their sleep or late night talking with their families. Those who tried to stop them; their family members, were pushed back.
Their eyes were shining in a light pink color in the pupils; as they had an expressionless look on their face and marched forward towards the south of the city.
