By the cliff where the royal carriage was moving, inside the carriage; Ray and Nino were talking about the disappointment of not being able to celebrate the festival with the others. The two were talking, as Ray took a glance outside noticing Ornlarf as he called out to him and asked how the things were going in the palace. To this, Ornlarf looked at them, a worried look coming over him as he said;
"Princess Montina… isn't doing so well…"
As he said so, Nino asked in a worried voice if something happened to Mono. But Ornlarf explained that Mono was physically fine, and it was something else; adding into it, "just like from 3 months back"
As things were going outside, inside the dungeon:
Kai finally stood up, as dominaredor too woke up from her sleep, rubbing her eyes. Dusting off his shirt, Kai said it's finally time for him to see his first soon. The system then explained to Kai, that for summoning the hidden boss as his vassal, Kai must use dominaredor in her weapon form.
Kai nodded his head, asking if there's anything else for it as well. Just then, the screen displaying the summon reward changed to a naming interface; as the first display stated that Kai must give a name to the summon first in order to call out.
"Uh-huh…"
Kai gave a thoughtful look, recalling what the hidden boss looked like for a few seconds, as he finally smiled. I got it; he said as he spoke out the name:
"Selene."
As he spoke the name, the interface typed the name itself, as the name registered and the system said that Kai could now summon the hidden boss as his vassal.
Kai smirked as he called for dominaredor to change to her weapon form, who did so right away as Kai took his grip on the handle. He then turned to the system asking if he need to pose something or so, in order to summon her. But the system responded that it also doesn't know if that's how it works.
"…Are you for real?"
Kai asked with an annoyed look before sighing. Turning to dominaredor in his right hand, he asked if she knew it as she responded that Kai just need to call the summons' name and it will appear. Taking her words, Kai stood tall as he swinged dominaredor in his hand, before his fingers slowly began to rotate it in a swift motion. Each turn was smooth, controlled and meditative as he held it straight and steady, placing the tip of it's down on the surface.
A quiet gust of wind fled by, as Kai smiled as whispered;
"Come forth, Selene."
As the name left his lips, the runes on dominaredor began to glow, first red, then slowly shifting to a celestial light. From the ground, around Kai's feet, a radiant mist began to rise, swirling along with glowing petals moving around. Those petals slowly came forward, together in front of Kai, along with the mist condensing into a shimmering figure clad in an armor. The armor, along with the helm, shone with a celestial light. The cap fluttered like a shadow, and her eyes- brilliant and piercing; held a calm feeling into it. Along with the spear she carried at her back, she glowed in a celestial light, with her eyes, along with the tip of the spear and some edges to the armor glowing in white glow.
A whistle escaped Kai's lips, smiling as he said that she looks really cool and ready to a battle now. Dominaredor too exclaimed that Kai's first summon; Selene really does looks perfect to fight alongside with him. Kai nodded with a smile, as he turned to the system asking what it thinks. But the system was silent for a while, the screen turned staring at Selene.
Kai paused, thoughts running through his mind but the system quickly changed to his way, the words formed as it stated that Kai should take great care of her. Kai just stared at the system, before slowly turning to Selene, who stood still looking at Kai, until Kai slowly smiled and nodded;
"Of course I will."
Dominaredor returned to her human form, walking around Selene as she expressed how pretty she was. Kai chuckled a bit, asking to the system if Selene can converse with them as well. But according to the system; Selene was only capable of following orders, using her skills in battle and if she slays a monster, the experience will be transferred to Kai as well, even if Kai didn't participate in the battle.
Kai nodded, looking around as he expressed that he wanted to see what Selene was capable of in the battle. To this, the system asked if Kai wanted to move to the next floor. But Kai gave a thoughtful look, asking can the system show him in which floor he was.
As he asked so, the screen shifted changed to show the image of the whole dungeon, mentioning the floors in them; showing Kai with a red glowing dot, presented on the 51st floor.
"I'm already on the 51st floor…?"
Kai wondered out loud, as the system stated that Kai kept on going from one floor to another even after the system asked him to stop for straight one hour. Kai thought for a while, recalling all the monsters in the floors he came across were around level 300. Thinking for a while, Kai smiled as he looked at Selene and asked the system to take them to the next floor.
The system opened up the portal for the next floor, as Kai walked inside it, followed by dominaredor and Selene; inside with fire-breathing lizardmen, level 305. Kai stretched his arms, slowly sitting down on the floor as he commanded;
"Selene. Make sure all the lizards are dead… and none of them should be able to put a scratch on me."
As Kai said so, Selene's eyes glowed, stepping forward to the group, as the group of lizardmen turned to her as well, ready to rush forward. But in a blink of an eye, Selene vanished and reappeared right behind the group, her right hand held the spear she carried on her back. And behind her, all the lizardmen fell one after another, vanishing in the dungeon as Kai got the notifications of claiming the drops.
Dominaredor was in awe, but Kai smirked, replaying the scene in his mind, where Selene was walking forward to the group, as she pulled her spear from behind and in a quick motion, she sprinted to the side as she swinged the spear and in one hit; eliminating the whole group.
"A hidden boss as my summon, that too level 255. I can just relax and watch her do my work then."
The system then came up, stating with a vassal, Kai can have his way easily to the higher floors now. Kai too nodded to it, slowly standing up as he said that now the dungeon hunt will be more fun. Dominaredor too jumped around, as Selene came back to Kai's side. Kai slowly looked over the time, as he said that he should go back now. The system then asked when he plans to return next, as Kai just responded with a shrug, waving to dominaredor as he woke up back in the real world. Sitting up on his bed, Kai looked outside the window seeing the weather all nice and clear now.
But then, his eyes caught a view of a glow coming from under his bed by the corner. Slowly moving towards the light, Kai pulled out the book he kept there; The Adventurer's Diary.
Opening the book, he saw the next pages forming new words on it, with the previous page having the magic skill tree unlocking three new skill icons over it; the three skills he got in the dungeon.
Reading through it, Kai narrowed his eyes.
"This book has some connection to that dungeon… but how?"
