Chapter 8 - #8Chapter 8 Ending

The three of them ran into a Park, while Wuwei chose to stand by the roadside, quietly watching Toka gradually approach.

"What, aren't you going to hide?" Toka looked at Wuwei in front of her. She had seen this young man at Yuta's home earlier, and he was clearly with her silly younger sister's group in the recent escape.

"No, since I was arranged to be a decoy, I should do something," Wuwei smiled and shook his head, looking at the three people peeking out from behind the slide behind Toka. He gestured with his chin towards them, indicating to Toka that the people she was looking for were over there.

But Toka obviously didn't understand this gesture and took Wuwei's chin raise as a provocation.

Her eyes turned cold, and Toka quickly pulled out another spoon from behind her, throwing it at Wuwei without even aiming.

Rikka, who had been hiding, was shocked when she saw Wuwei's action and had already regarded Wuwei as a traitor. However, when she saw Toka attacking Wuwei, she realized that Wuwei's action earlier was a 'provocation' to the Saint Healer (Toka), to buy them more time to escape.

Thinking of this, Rikka's eyes welled up with tears. She hugged Chimera, raised her arm, and shouted, "Everyone, flee quickly! Our comrade is using his body to buy us more time! Run! Don't let our comrade sacrifice himself in vain!" After saying that, she immediately ran away, with Yuta and Koushou close behind.

Yuta didn't forget to turn around and shout at Wuwei, "Wuwei! We will remember your sacrifice!" This made Wuwei break out in a sweat. He didn't mean that at all, but both Toka in front of him and the trio moving away thought so.

Well, if that was the case, he would just have to accept it.

Wuwei punched away the incoming spoon and slowly walked towards Toka, not forgetting to say, "Are you sure you want to fight me to the death? They're almost gone, you know."

Toka pulled out another spoon from her four-dimensional pocket behind her, looking at the young man in front of her seriously for the first time. No one had ever been able to take her spoon before. More importantly, when she faced this young man, she felt a chill from deep within her body, emanating from her soul. This was not a cold wind; it was a real aura that made Toka almost unable to breathe.

This was Wuwei's spiritual power, far exceeding human limits, releasing an aura through his hostility.

After a long while, Toka slowly put away the spoon in her hand. Seeing this, Wuwei also kicked the spoon he had just knocked away, sending it flying directly towards Toka. In turn, Toka also easily caught it, then turned and chased after the trio who were getting further away.

Wuwei sighed helplessly and followed. "I just told you where they were, and you just attacked me like that. That's so rude ~" Wuwei said to Toka with his hands behind his head. "Who knows?" Toka replied without looking back, "Your action just now was too easy to misunderstand."

On the other side, seeing Wuwei deflect Toka's attack with a punch, the three couldn't help but exclaim, "Sugoi!" But soon, the three realized that the two had no intention of continuing to fight and were instead walking towards them, instantly turning pale. A very skilled Toka with accurate spoons, plus an even more skilled Wuwei—there was no escape, absolutely no escape.

Rikka handed Chimera to Yuta, "You two run! I will stop them! Although I don't have a way to defeat the Saint Healer right now, we will defeat her sooner or later!" She then made a death flag to Chimera in Yuta's arms: "When this battle is over, we'll live together again."

Rikka's face was full of resolve, with even a tear in her eye, as she charged towards Wuwei and Toka, like a brave warrior going forth never to return!

Behind her, Yuta, holding Chimera, had a speechless and helpless expression. Koushou, meanwhile, was crying and shouting that they would definitely survive.

This left both Toka and Wuwei speechless.

"Appear!" Rikka crouched low, reaching into her skirt, and pulled out a black lace folding umbrella. It was her exclusive weapon that would accompany Rikka for many years: "Schwarz Sechs Prototype Mark II!"

Rikka held the black umbrella, placing her hand on her face, "Explode, reality! Break, nerves! Banish this world!!!" At the same time, Rikka lifted the eye patch over her right eye, revealing her golden eye—the Evil King's True Eye!

But in an instant, Wuwei's Sharingan observed an extremely, extremely faint magical power fluctuation. At the same time, he saw a magic circle deep within Rikka's Evil King's True Eye, flashing in and out of existence in an instant.

An illusion? No, that shouldn't be possible.

Wuwei had originally come with the mindset of watching a show, but now, he was more serious than ever before.

He saw Rikka place the umbrella on the ground, put her hand to her mouth, pretending to bite it, "I obey the blood pact, I summon you!"

Then, she extended her right hand, feigning profundity, "Night Queen!"

No mistake. Wuwei's pupils contracted slightly. He had been observing Rikka's every move. Soon, with Rikka's cry of 'Night Queen' and her chuunibyou movements, a faint magical power, identical to the one just now, appeared. Simultaneously, Wuwei observed several red magic circles that flashed in and out of existence.

What exactly is this...?

Over there, Rikka picked up the umbrella from the ground and launched a fierce attack on Toka. From her perspective, she was wielding a massive black weapon, while Toka was holding a huge, pure white spoon with both hands. The two went back and forth, one firing a wave that the other dodged, and the other firing a wave that the first deflected.

In reality, Rikka was poking Toka wildly with her umbrella, while Toka didn't fight back, only occasionally batting away the umbrella when it got too close.

Yuta was stunned watching from the side, "She's actually... gaining the upper hand?"

But Wuwei didn't think so. There was no sisterly duel; it was just a good older sister willing to indulge her younger sister's antics. Wuwei recalled the past...

No, no! Wuwei shook his head, bringing his thoughts back to the present.

Soon, this battle ended with Toka's angry roar of "Are you done playing?" and a spoon hitting Rikka on the forehead.

One hit, Sleeping Dragon emerges from the mountain!

With the main damage dealer Rikka down, Toka naturally had no reason to let the remaining two go. She retrieved the voice recorder that Yuta had taken and gave him another hard hit with a spoon. Senior Koushou was naturally not spared either.

The escaping trio knelt on the ground, all covering their heads and crying.

"In any case, don't bring cats back home. I'll let you off the hook this time." She then pulled out a box of square band-aids from her four-dimensional pocket and threw them to the trio, turning and leaving mercilessly, disappearing into the night.

It was only then that Yuta and the others realized Wuwei had already disappeared.

"That traitor..." Rikka gritted her teeth in anger, "If he had been willing to join the battle, we definitely could have defeated the Saint Healer!"

"You've had enough!"

---

"It must be hard, right?"

As soon as Toka left the Park, she heard a low whisper beside her. Turning around, she saw Wuwei, who had put his eye patch back on, leaning against a tree.

Toka didn't want to bother with him. After seeing who it was, she didn't stop walking.

"Working hard until late every day, facing the hardships of life, and still having an unaccomplished younger sister at home." Wuwei had no intention of letting Toka go. "Looking at Rikka, she probably isn't the type to do housework at home, right? Coming home from work every day and still having to face a pile of chores, not to mention that being a chef is also very tiring. I can tell, you're very tired right now, aren't you?"

Seeing Toka stop again and look at Wuwei, she said, "You don't understand."

"Oh, I understand perfectly," Wuwei sighed. "I used to be an older brother too, and I also had a cute and willful younger sister. I just sympathize with you."

...

After a moment of silence, Toka slowly said, "Her becoming like this... we also bear some responsibility. So, if possible, I hope she can face reality, let her know that some things are irreversible and simply don't exist. But... I also don't want to ruin her, to force her to live a life she hates.

I just hope she can be more sensible, more mature."

"So you spoil her endlessly," Wuwei shrugged. He knew the reasons behind this and could understand Toka's favoritism towards Rikka. Toka and their mother had been hiding their father's health condition from Rikka, which led to Rikka being unable to cope with her father's sudden death. Coincidentally, she met Yuta during her chuunibyou phase and from then on began to believe in the existence of another world, fantasizing about finding the legendary "invisible boundary line" to resurrect her father and embrace him again.

But unfortunately, things that don't exist simply don't exist. Perhaps for Wuwei, resurrection might truly be possible someday in the future, but for Rikka, it is genuinely impossible.

"However, perhaps you can try letting her learn to grow on her own."

"I've given her so much time!" Toka retorted angrily. In response to this, Wuwei just shook his head, "Growth isn't just about the accumulation of time. She's still young, right? As she gradually grows older, her knowledge will increase, and her mind will mature. Perhaps she just needs an opportunity. Many times, many people's growth happens in an instant."

After saying this, Wuwei turned and left, slowly disappearing into the night, leaving Toka standing alone in silence.

"Used to be an older brother... used to...?"
