After a whole session of Alexis envying Leon, he finally came back to his senses and asked Leon
"Oh, by the way, are you feeling alright now? No more painful injuries? Its best if you tell me now, so that I can still bandage them for a quick recovery."
Leon replied "No more pains, im alright."
Alexis sighed in relief and answered
"whew, good to hear. You should stay here for a few more days for a thorough and quick healing. But, if you want, you can also leave. The choice is yours"
Leon paused for a moment, then asked
"Why are you being so nice to me? You often bullied me to the extent of humiliating me in front of everyone.. why the sudden change of heart?"
Leon glared at Alexis, thinking that he had sinister intentions.
Alexis blinked for a few minutes, then showed a helpless look
"Haha.. well, everyone can feel drastic changes once they experience a turning point in their life, no?"
Leon stared at him for a moment, and replied
"That's true, but what made you change so much to the point that have a change in personality, style, and even demeanor?"
Rei suddenly paused at the unexpected question, then slowly replied
"There are times when an evil person has a sudden change in actions just because of one person. And that, is also what I am experiencing at the moment. Whenever you feel like that you are too evil and cruel, just think about the one person who would make you feel more sensible and calm"
Leon asked once more,
"And who is this person you're thinking about?"
Rei replied:
"That, is something I cannot tell. But one thing I can tell you is that I truly love them and I really appreciate them. They have a special place in my heart." Rei smiled tenderly as he replied to Leon's questions
After Leon heard this response, he frowned.
Rei noticed the sudden change of expression and asked "Heyy, what made your face look like that? Surely you also have someone who makes you feel sensible too, right?"
Rei paused to think for a moment, and smirked "Hey... speaking of someone, I have a favor for you, have you ever heard of Eluria Academy?"
Leon scoffed, "Who hasn't heard about that school? Its one of the top ten schools in the empire that taught even the most prominent figures now"
Rei smiled, "That's right! Now, since I helped you tend to your wounds, you must pay me back of course! Firstly, you enroll in this school and you must study hard!"
Leon then narrowed his eyes "Study hard huh..? Are there any other motives for this extremely generous offer of yours?"
Rei responded "Whatt? Pssh, Noo! I just wanna make up for the things i've done to you! And pluss, I wanna allot my money for something worthwhile" Rei sighed
Leon paused, then asked Rei "What do you mean..? Dont tell me you're going to pay for the fees?"
Alexis smiled proudly, then answered
"Of course! I dont intend to show off my unlimited source of money all day long, so I decided that I should spend it for a good cause."
Rei's intentions were much more deeper than just spending it for "a good cause". He plannned on letting the webtoon progress naturally without Alexis being in the way, and so that Leon won't act so hostile towards him anymore. Rei also intended to let Leon meet his beloved love interest, Claria. If all goes well, then the peaceful life that he has always wanted will finally be granted to him. Who cares about going back to the original world!? Its better to live life with tons of money in a fictional webtoon rather than just live his out his real life in poverty!
Leon still felt an uneasy premonition fill up his head, but decided to trust Alexis at the moment "Fine, i'll do the favor."
Rei smiled happily then celebrated with happiness
"Yehey! Wohoo!" Rei cried tears of joy then continued to celebrate
For some reason, Leon felt a sense of comfort when Alexis felt happy or overjoyed.
Which wasn't a bad feeling at all, but he was oblivious as to why he felt that way.
All his life, Leon has always been humiliated by Alexis and was often beaten to a pulp. Every day, he would go home with bruises and scars on his face and body. However, Leon did not mind, cause he knew that Alexis was also struggling and used him as a punching bag to vent out his sadness and anger. But that's not all, Alexis was also jealous of Leon having so many friends at his side, and wanted to embarrass him so that Leon could feel the taste of being lonely.
Leon endured all the hardships he was given, just so that he could see Alexis smile once more. However, Alexis's personality began to become more and more sour.
He usually bragged about how rich he was, and was always perceived as a troublemaker.
But of course, Alexis had his own reasons as to why he was like that. His family never showed an ounce of care for him from young to old, and only used him as a pawn for their negotiations in company businesess. Alexis was also used for his money and never had real friends to rely on. And so, Since his 'friends' were attracted to his money, his life only revolved in making tons of cash, just so he could get the attention he always wanted, even if the attention he got was all because of his overflowing wealth.
And from there on, he continued to flaunt out his position and showed big pride on his riches. Although he may seem like a big scum who likes money, all he ever wanted was just a friend who would give him company.
The only person who understood about his problems was Leon. But Alexis was too blinded by greed that he never once thought about Leon's desire to become true friends with him. After all, he was just a punching bag in Alexis's eyes, but Leon was fine with it, as long as it could soothe Alexis's hatred in life.
One day, Leon decided to stop letting himself be attacked by Alexis, since it would do no good for him. Since then, Leon stopped talking to Alexis and life started to get better for him. His studies were going well in Eluria, and even met a beautiful girl, named Claria. After several months of their friendship,they both shared mutual feelings for each other, and became lovebirds.
Leon felt so happy about his great progress in life. On the other hand, Alexis was still suffering alone and only found comfort in alcohol. As Leon was busy with his social life, Alexis continued to talk all by himself, and stayed inside his house for multiple weeks. One day, he decided that he should go on a quick walk before he would do something else. As he was strolling around the nearby forest, a pack of wolves suddenly attacked him, and he was torn into many pieces. And there, was Alexis's demise.
The gods felt their hearts ache for Alexis, and decided to give him a second chance in life, through reincarnation. And so, that's when Rei transmigrated into Alexis's body.
