Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: Be Brave, Don’t Cry

"No more, not a drop left… Let go of my tail!"

The beast girl's voice trembled with anger, her fury bursting forth as she desperately wanted to turn and bite the man behind her—only she couldn't.

In a state of 100% surrender, her body completely belonged to Amamiya Natsuki.

Not just tail-tugging—if he wanted to poke or prod her, her body wouldn't resist a thing.

"Eh, it's gone so soon?"

Fujiwara Chika wiped milk from the corner of her lips and said with disappointment, "So weak."

"I haven't eaten for a long time. How could I squeeze anything out?" The beast girl's scarlet eyes flashed ferociously as they landed on Rikka Takanashi. "Push that girl with the eyepatch over here, let me eat her!"

"Satisfy my needs, and I'll conjure up food!"

It was her—the one who had dragged several humans here to attack. The betrayer!

The cow spirit's hatred for Rikka ranked second only to her loathing for Amamiya Natsuki.

Rikka Takanashi was startled and quickly hid behind Fujiwara Chika, timidly glancing at Shinomiya Kaguya. Her animal instincts warned her: the super-beautiful, long-haired girl standing before her looked terrifying and might actually offer herself up to the vengeful spirit.

Kaguya's expression remained calm and composed, seemingly unaware of Rikka's fearful gaze. She crossed her left arm over her chest, gently rested her chin on her right hand, and looked directly at the vengeful spirit.

"As long as there's food, you can create food?"

"That's right." The beast girl smiled cruelly. "Hurry up and push that girl out."

"Impossible." Kaguya replied calmly. "But we can provide other food."

"Don't lie to ghosts. How could you possibly have food?"

Kaguya's eyes flicked toward Amamiya Natsuki, a faint smile curling the corners of her pink lips. "Amamiya-san, please take out the 'food.'"

"Wait—Natsuki-san has food?" Fujiwara Chika's eyes widened, curiosity blooming. "Kaguya-chan, are you serious?"

"Kaguya-san is right. I do have 'food' for Miss Cow."

Amamiya Natsuki already understood what Kaguya meant. As he spoke, he pulled props from the game's storage grid.

Emerald green gleamed brightly in the dim room.

Green—the color of life and miracles.

"Hey—leeks?"

Several girls' eyes went wide.

"That's right. We can feed leeks to cows." Fujiwara slapped her forehead. "The leeks they eat, the milk they squeeze out—perfect cycle!"

"That bunch of leeks can actually be put to good use?"

Asuka Kujo, former owner of the leeks, was stunned.

Come to think of it… it made total sense.

People don't eat leeks raw, but cows do.

Cows are herbivores, and leeks are herbs. Totally normal to eat.

Although surprised, Asuka felt no regret. Even if the leeks stayed in her hands, they'd be useless waste. She wouldn't dare feed them to vengeful spirits.

Using leeks to curry favor with someone powerful? Never a loss!

"Here."

Natsuki handed the leeks to Kaguya, then stood behind the cow ghost, ready to continue capturing her. Feeding duties, naturally, were someone else's job.

Kaguya drew a knife, sliced the leeks, and handed the juicy green stalks to the beast girl ghost. Calmly, she said:

"Please enjoy your meal."

"I won't eat it!" The beast girl glared at the leeks, her voice trembling with anger, jagged teeth bared. "Look at my teeth! I'm a carnivore now. I want meat!"

"Carnivores can eat grass, too." Fujiwara Chika interjected. "Cats nibble cat grass sometimes, and you're a dairy cow."

"I'm a ghost, not a cow!"

"I'm an evil spirit! How can I bear this humiliation?"

"Miss Ghost…" Kaguya tilted her head, voice echoing like night's chill. "Do you know how to make French foie gras?"

The ghost looked confused.

"I know!" Fujiwara raised her hand eagerly. "I saw it on Twitter once. They keep geese standing in tiny cages all day, forcing them to stand without sleep. Then they shove food down their throats… French foie gras is delicious, but I've never eaten it since."

Kaguya took over: "Ms. Wraith, do you want to eat it yourself, or have us stuff it in?"

Tears welled in the beast girl's eyes. She chose surrender.

Better to eat willingly than be force-fed. At least she could keep some dignity.

"Ahem…"

She bit the leek, chewed with tears in her eyes, and snarled: "Human, I'll remember this grudge!"

Kaguya's expression remained calm and untouched.

Harsh words from a prisoner only reveal cowardice.

"Amamiya-san, let's do it."

Natsuki nodded and grabbed the beast girl's tail again. The feeling was unexpectedly… good.

"Wait, wait!" The ghost shouted. "That little grass won't feed me! Playing with my tail can't turn it into food!"

It's not that easy to turn a handful of leeks into meals. Humans were celebrating too early.

"It's okay." Fujiwara pointed at the table crisply. "The chives will be ready soon."

The ghost spun around, eyes wide. The leeks were growing before their eyes, sprouting as if by magic.

"Ah, time to cut."

Fujiwara enthusiastically took the knife, sliced the leeks, and handed them to Kaguya.

"Ms. Ghost," Kaguya offered the leeks to the cow ghost's mouth, "Please continue eating."

"Too much! Too much!" The spirit's resistance broke down. "You're not even letting me go!"

Resistance was futile.

The beast girl ghost soon endured a miserable existence, eating grass to produce food.

"Tastes good."

"It really does taste like Meiji milk."

"By the way, there are two characters for 'Meiji' on Miss Wraith's neck. Could she have been a dairy cow for Meiji Dairy?"

The girls chatted as they took turns drinking the milk, easing their hunger states.

With all the humans done, the beast girl sighed with tears, relieved to be free from leek hell.

What she didn't realize: hell was just beginning.

"Kujo-san, Kotori-san," Kaguya crossed her arms coldly, "Open the door and start attracting customers as planned."

The evil capitalist lady Kaguya Shinomiya was ready to build her empire of sin.
