The explosion of the transformer box had disabled the security lasers, but it had also triggered the hotel's backup alarm.
"They're coming!" Rhea yelled over the radio. "I'm seeing security teams moving down the service stairs. You have less than five minutes before they pin you."
Rohan grabbed the fallen enforcer's Aetheric rifle, his leg shaking under his weight. He stood near the entrance of the corridor, his back against a brick archway.
"I'll hold them off here," Rohan said, his face determined.
"Rohan, you can't fight them alone," Vikram said, looking at the heavy vault door.
"I won't be alone," Rohan said, tapping his rifle. "I have my father's memory and enough ammo to start a war. Just get Desai and find out how to destroy the Core. Go, Vikram!"
Vikram nodded, turning back to the vault door.
Behind him, the sound of boots running down the corridor echoed. Rohan raised his rifle and opened fire, the blue energy bolts lighting up the brick archways.
"Come on, you corporate bastards!" Rohan shouted, his voice echoing in the dark tunnels.
