Northern still tried to find Anki even after everything. He dispersed echoes and clones and searched far and wide, even into the depths of the waters while he reached back to Ul in the Prism.
When he returned, Terence was there, sprawled on the ground. Northern removed the Prism and attended to her, healing her bones—as though someone had twisted them wickedly out of pure malice.
She regained consciousness and confirmed that Ul had left her body. She was taken to a makeshift infirmary, where not just her but all the casualties of the war were being treated.
A war? A battle, sorry.
But the aftermath looked like that of a war. Half of Luinngard Empire's buildings had been razed to the ground like they never existed. Thousands had died from the last explosion, and the only thing that protected many more was the Emperor himself, who had cast an enormous shield to protect everyone.
