In the Different Space, Emily was excited by the prospect of communicating with the local inhabitants. She didn't rush to ask a barrage of questions, as that would have seemed very impolite. After all, they were under no obligation to drop what they were doing to satisfy her curiosity.
Aozawa wasn't eager to have Griffith act as an explanatory NPC either. He chose to have the Hawk Band start a fire and cook.
The large group of people was not under Aozawa's direct control. Aozawa had simply hypnotized the Different Space, making the Different Space believe that it should contain such a group of idealistic people: a black-haired warrior named Gus, a female warrior named Kassia, and others.
