Mark Reed kept a stern face; he had restrained himself from thinking about her the past couple of days, but now she was here again, flaunting herself in front of him.
Mark Reed looked Valentine Teller up and down. Her professional attire was a perfect fit, outlining her curves flawlessly.
His icy gaze landed on her flat stomach, and he scoffed, "What are you doing at my company?"
"I... I'm here as an intern."
Valentine answered honestly, unaware that he was the CEO of the Reeds. Had she known, she wouldn't have come.
Knowing now wasn't too late; she would leave immediately.
He asked coldly again, "Aren't you pregnant?"
"I..." She didn't know how to explain. She felt his chilling gaze on her, never leaving, like needles on her back and a thorn in her throat. She felt utterly uncomfortable.
"You lied to me?"
He squinted, suddenly standing up from the boss's chair, striding toward Valentine Teller, feeling a shadow closing in on her.
