Valentine Teller cautiously observed the expression on Mark Reed's face. He seemed severely hurt, could it be...
"Did you guys get divorced?" she asked curiously.
"She's not my wife..."
Mark Reed finally said it out loud.
He had never truly had Claudia Ross; she only considered him a good friend and never loved him.
Valentine Teller's phone rang.
She opened her handbag, fished out her phone, and saw "Professor Oliver" cheerfully bouncing on the screen.
Her heart suddenly skipped a beat, and a cold voice reached her ears.
"Don't answer it."
Mark Reed's arm tightened as he sourly threatened, "If you're not afraid of him knowing you're with me, then go ahead and answer."
Seeing Valentine Teller put the phone back into her handbag, Mark Reed's lips twitched slightly into a smile.
