"Noble, Hah, what a fcking joke. You're a failure, so is your son. You don't deserve this, you don't deserve this world, you don't deserve anything, you're a fallen aristocrat, a shame to those who achieve and a leader for those who are a disgrace.",

"I hate you, I hate you, I hate you"

"$^&%$^%&^;*,*:$":^&...."

(Morphed voices, inaudible and the volume decreasing as the vision returns)

........

"Haa, Haa, Haa, Haa",

My breathing was rugged and I was starting to slowly regain my memories, the memories of Roy before me.

It's almost been 2 years since I came to this strange and disastrous world.

I could never figure out why and what led such an controversial topic of "reincarnation", that transpired to me or what purpose do I have to bare coming to this world with my memories intact.

Six months back my father sent me and my group to venture into the woods along with Nara and Klein for our improvement.

There is a lot of improvements within us if I may confirm but there is also one problem, we lack any updates from the slum.

The dangerous turn of events and the regular drills that they made us do, there was no update whatsoever.

But above all that, the main problem was me regaining my memories.

Why you may ask?? Because the evocation that I was being processed was random, incomplete and realistic.

That's right, I felt as though I was in person experiencing them. As though it was me, the actual me but not the other me.

Although it may sound obvious but it isn't, because the reflection on Roy's face from my memories was my face. The face of me when I was on earth. THE FACE OF RAM.

Tak, Click,

The door opened and I saw Alice wrapped up in a fully leather armor which was battered because of the countless fights with the beasts over the course of six months.

"Roy, there is abnormally low movement in this area. It's as though the beasts are scared to come out. Nara is unreachable and Klein only left us with a note saying stay on low grounds but when the time is ripe we have to patrol the area. I don't exactly know when the time will be ripe or when the situ-",

"It's alright Alice, that time is now, change your gear, if the general movement in the area is low then the fodder is also less. That means the beasts have migrated to somewhere else to hunt. If large amounts of fodder disappear over just a month then this is definetly work of something larger, a fierce predator. An hungry one at that. I think it's time we head back, call Nero and Jack."

I said arming myself. The past six months we have been doing nothing but arduous training, fighting beasts, training mana, hunting, and camping in this large cave.

There was a small stream inside the cave, which enabled our water source.

Nara and Anna would regularly drop by giving us hints and teaching us on how to control mana, our affinities and how to use it even on day to day activities.

My father visited once, two months back. His face looked quite tired but still he gave us a pretty gist of why we had come here.

Explaining everything now would not make sense, so let's gradually set things up.

I quickly took out my mithril scimitars and packed water and a few other things.

I was wearing the spatial ring i obtained from my father in the huge bag he had given. The one from the you-know-what.

"Roy, I've bought the horses, let's go", Nero said holding his horse along with three others.

"Jack, we both will inch inside the slums to obtain any necessary information regarding the situation in there. Alice, you and Nero patrol this area, we will back shortly",

.

.

.

"Alice, take care" I said looking at her direction.

"Mm", she nodded with a serious expression.

Tdak, tdak,

We began to slowly move towards the borders of the slums, the eastern borders which was the least developed.

Jack and me, meticulously planned out the path back to the slums over the last few months, just to know the current situation and it came out handy.

After reaching a broad pathway which was mildly covered by algae, I quickly tied my horse to the nearby tree and camouflaged it.

Drawing out my scimitars, I quickly spread my mana through the ground to check for any potential danger.

"Jack, on your left at 45 there are two and three on your 90. They seem to be goblins or gremlins based on their size" I said with a nod.

"Hup", he said swiftly drawing out his daggers.

He swiftly navigated his way up the tree and took out his slingshot.

Taking two sharp needles, he pulled the slingshot and released them into the wilderness.

The needle swiftly pierced the head of the two goblins killing them on spot.

Without wasting any time, he dashed towards his 90 and concealed himself with mana.

Locating the three goblins, he slid across the ground kicking one in the process.

Having lost its balance, the goblin stumbled down meeting its demise to Jack's blade.

Noticing this the other two were about call for help but were pierced by the dagger, spraying blood all over the ground.

I gave him a slight nod signaling him to move forward.

I too quickly climbed up a tree and focused the mana to my eyes.

'Hmm, two gremlins to my right and one hobgoblin behind me. Huh, it seems to be running?? Does it see the gremlins as his prey??, that's quite monumental'

Seeing the opportunity I simply just stayed still observing the situation.

The hobgoblin which was running started to slow down and began to blend in with its surroundings, slowly it moved towards the gremlins holding what looked like a Spear in a throwing position.

As the gremlins started to mate(Yes, they were mating) the hobgoblin threw its Spear which pearced them both.

The now dead couple was a scrumptious meal for the hobgoblin until of course I was there.

Quickly gathering strength in my legs, I pushed towards the hobgoblin.

"Hieek", it uttered startled by my sudden appearance.

It quickly pulled out its Spear and rushed towards me.

I used it's momentum to thrown him off guard kicking it's gut.

"Bleaaah",

I quickly conjured my wind shaping it into small spears and threw them towards the hobgoblin.

As they pierced the rough green skin, it let out a nasty growl.

In extreme agony it rushed at me, blindly in rage.

Using this I swiftly dodged its attacks and unsheathed my scimitars.

I jumped above the hobgoblin, cleanly slicing off its head and landing back safely.

'That was quite easy. Although the hobgoblin still lacks battle experience it was a good opponent.'

I quickly made my way towards a dark chunk of wooden planks.

Although it looked broken there were words clearly written in there, written bold to read.

"THE PATH WHICH WAS SET...."
