Essence and Cinder arrive at the now fallen city. it was abandoned and charred like coal. A city burned to ash; the true power of the beasts didn't lie in their magic or muscles, but their seer distractive force. They were monsters who didn't differentiate between the young and old, Humans or animals. Everyone is prey when you are stronger. Blood covered the roads like paint. Cinder was breathing hard, as if it reminded of a time who would like to forget. Essence was still shaken from the experience woke up to a setting sun; he was out for 6 hours. But the sight of the environment made him dizzy again. Even after seeing all the dead and rivers of blood, he still couldn't get use to the scent of death. "You up? A few more hours and I would have buried you!" Essence sat up straight still sluggish to answer Cinder "Thanks for not trying to wake me up before planning to bury me." "Dude, we crashed 2 times and I even finished a small goblin group thing. I was even going to try to kiss you to wake you up but then I though back to it, sounds gay as fu*k and I'm not gay." Essence grinned from ear to ear and started to tease Cinder "Just say it dude! you think I'm cute and want to kiss me, right?" Cinder slammed down the breaks which nearly made them fall up front "Stay a mile away from me and quit holding my waist." "Bro I was kidding no need to get all serious, you could have killed us from this sudden brake!" Cinder sighed hearing Essence and pointed ahead "I didn't stop for your gay @ss joke, look ahead there are 5 hobgoblins and a Fu*k ton of normal ones, I think people are trapped in the building ahead of the group. want to go help them?" Essence gets off the motorbike "Is that even a question?" he said as he pulled out the now iconic rod-sword "helping people is our thing flame emperor!" Cinder sped up towards the goblin with his bat in hand "Don't call me that, sounds cringe as fu*k!" Essence also runs towards him with fast steps. A system pop up congratulates Essence "Congratulations User, passive skill agile has now levelled up. now the agility buff is 20%" Essence now ran faster than the previous world record holder. With this insane speed and perfect control and power, Essence became a force to be reckoned with.
Cinder crashed into the goblins with the bike killing many, the hobgoblins didnt hold back and went on the offensive. But Essence jumped in last second and kicked the first hobgoblin down with a kick to the knee. The second one changed its target to Essence and swung its club towards Essence, Meanwhile Cinder reached the building after killing a few more goblins on the way, inside he found 3 men all injured and 1 woman with a child in her hand. Cinder ran towards them but was blocked by the injured people "What do you think you are doing? She is a mother; you cannot take her with you!" Even at death's gate, the man wanted to protect the mother, she was crying and begging or mercy, Cinder soon clarified "No-no I'm here to help! I'm a good guy, and I'm not really into Milfs sorry." "What Milf?" Cinder brushed it off and went to the mother "Hey can I see the kid? He looks not so good." The mother gently lowers her guard; Cinder picks up the baby "OH GOD! it has such a strong fever." The mother answers with tears and sobs "Yes, we ventured out just to find him medicine, but we were instantly surrounded, if it was a few maybe we would have stood a chance, but there are 5 of the big ones. Only death remains a way out, Or the goblins will take me with them...NO PLEASE KILL ME BEFORE THEY TAKE ME!" Her desperation makes Cinder skip a beat "do not worry ma'am! Essence and I will take care of this mess." Cinder gets up to leave but she stops him "NO! they will not kill you; they will torture you to death, its meaningless to fight them, You are too young for this, take my child and run away with your friend... i have seen everything there is to see, but you have a future ahead and-" Cinder stopped her "I understand want you mean, keep your kid safe, even if I decide to run, that guy out there would agree to run with me, his sense of justice is twisted but not rotten. I also won't be able to sleep knowing I couldn't save this child's mother. Rest assured, we will return." Cinder's words comforted the mother. The man standing next to him hands him a knife "This should help you, ill also join you to death!" the other 2 also agreed with him. Cinder gave a warm smile and handed it back "Don't need it." As he pulls out his 2 Bats jumping from the first-floor window. They all gasp and run towards the Window just to see him hall right on a hobgoblin killing it instantly. "Took you long enough!" Essence spoke up wiping blood off the rod-sword "There is a kid up there with high fever, did we cross a pharmacy? Also, you killed the other 4?" Cinder was amazed "They were weak lol. There should be a pharmacy near Muriel's camp lets head there." The people of the building came down to see all the hobgoblins dead and the rest of the goblins in a disarray being killed one by one. They fell onto Essence's feet and called him a Savior sent by God! Cinder nudged Essence "Dude you can shout out that Robin guy." "Fu*k no dude! I'm his apostle not bootlicking servant, and ion think this stupid arrogant fool is anything close to a God!" "I hear what you say apostle! Have some shame even though no one really respects you!" Robin's voice sacred Essence. They bickered back and forth till they reached Muriel's camp.
When they reached the camp, it was ablaze with people running with water to put the flames out. Essence and Cinder went in quick to help them, they saw the new kids and were straddled at first but ignored it as they were of help. After the extinguished the flame, Cinder and Essence sat near a burnt wall, they were surrounded by the camp people "Who are you? what are you doing here with weapons? Do you not know weapons are not allowed inside the camp. John won't be happy with you." Essence put the rod-sword in his inventory "No we come in peace. I'm here to find Muriel my friend, do you know where she is?" They all looked at each other and pointed their blades at him "WHY DO YOU WANT JOHN'S DAUGHTER? ARE YOU ONE OF THOES HOOLIGANS!" Essence was pushed back, Cinder broke off the tension "NO, we are here to meet her, we offer help, no harm." Somehow Cinder's words convince them, and they take them to the john.
Muriel's father was one the bed, he had one arm missing and both his legs missing as well, wooden planks were attached to his legs so he could walk. His face and body had many scars, yet the worst of them was his dead eyes, they looked empty as if he had no will to live. Cinder went to ask about his condition while Essence went out on the roof, Muriel was sitting on the top looking at them. When Essence arrived, she ran away to the edge. Essence yelled out loud "STOPP!!!!!!!" and pulled her back in the brink of time "ARE YOU RET@RDED? WHY DID YOU TRY TO JUMP OFF? I'M HERE, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU-" "ENOUGH!" Muriel screamed at the top of her lungs scaring Essence into silence "YOU KNOW NOTHING! NOTHING!!" her cries froze Essence into a statue "Hey, don't worry, we will do something together." Muriel slaps Essence's hand off "YOU ARE LATE! DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPNED HERE? DO YOU?" Cinder's investigation let him to the truth, it was the most horrible one yet! he was left devastated as he looked up towards Essence and Muriel with a melancholic look "Oh no Essence, we are late."
Back at Essence's view Muriel started crying again "YOU ARE THE WORST! YOU TOLD ME IT WILL BE FINE; WE WOULD SAVE THE WORLD! BUT I COULDNT EVEN SAVE MY OWN FAMILY, YOU PUSHED ME TO THIS, I CAN NEVER BE A SAVIOR. WHY ARE YOU HERE." In a twist of fate, Essence slapped Muriel. She was left shocked as Essence hugged her "It will be fine, i will make it fine." She cried more in his arms!
after her tears dried up, she spoke the horrors she had to face "Dad built this strong base with many of his old wrestling buddies, we even had the police here with guns which made us feel safe. It was really safe.... but the Goblin chief somehow found out that the bullets are limited. It kept sending weak goblins. We celebrated after killing them.... but the bullets soon ran out, and the goblins attacked it with all their might. We stood no chance... they had magic and we had empty guns. They took away the women..... and.... yea you know what they did.... Mom was also taken away. She sacrificed herself to save me. dad went to bring mom back... but she was beyond recognition.... I still can't take it out of my head... it's been 3 days now but all I see how she died protecting me and how we found a mutilated corpse with my mother's ring. I died that Essence now I'm just a living shell. I can't save the world... we all will soon die...." Essence started laughing, his laughs knew no end "You think a few green baby creatures will stop ME? looks like you still don't know what this big bro of yours can do!" He grabbed Muriel and took her in front of everyone " ATTENTION EVERYBODY." All gathered to look at Essence. Cinder hid in embarrassment and Essence continued "I, ESSENCE, APOSTLE OF ROBIN AND THE SHINNING HOPE OF HUMANITY ASSURES EVERY CHILD, EVERY MOTHER AND FATHER, EVERY FRIEND, I WILL TAKE YOUR REVENGE, I WILL SLAY EVERY BEAST THAT BROUGHT PAIN TO MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS. FOLLOW ME TO THIS FIGHT OF REVENGE AND I SHALL GUIDE YOU!" Essence opens his inventory and pulls out the dragon core "EVEN THE DRAGONS OF THE SKY STAND NO CHANCE AGAINST THE MIGHT OF MANKIND. WE ARE THE TRUE RULERS OF EARTH, SHOW THEM OUR IRON WILL AND BLEED THEM TO THE GROUND. FIGHT FOR YOU, FIGHT FOR US!!" a system pop up flashed before Essence "New skill gained "speech of a leader" burns the flame of a warriors in the people under command." They all cheered for Essence and many fell on their knees and started to praise him.
Robin asked with a mocking tone "You humans are really complex, you seek freedom and yet listen to a man guiding you to death. I can never understand one!" Essence assured him "Do not think low of yourself, even a human can never understand another, that's just how we are." "Untamed and moral driven? You lowly are special but still, ever being needs a guiding hand." Essence smile evilly "That's the fun part, they are pawns for others, and kings for themselves, you just need to play both to win them over." Robin also couldn't help but shower Essence with praise "At least someone here is not blinded by short mindedness, Here's your gift for amazing me again." Muriel starts glowing in a bright light as notifications popped up
"Welcome new member of Radiance!"
