ELIJAH'S POV
My phone rang just as I was pouring my third scotch of the evening. The caller ID showed Nexus Investigations. I snatched it up before the second ring.
"Talk to me."
"We've got movement on both targets, Mr. Rossi. Your wife left her sister's house about twenty minutes ago. She's heading west on Highway 26."
I set the glass down hard enough that amber liquid sloshed over the rim. "Where's she going?"
"Unknown at this time. But we've got another problem. Isaac Rossi is following her. He's been on her tail since she left the house."
My grip tightened on the phone. Isaac. My fucking half brother was playing surveillance games with my wife. The irony would have been funny if it wasn't so goddamn infuriating.
"How close is he?"
"Close enough to see where she's going. Close enough to interfere with whatever she's planning."
