ISAAC'S POV
I laughed. "Is that what you tell yourself? That Imogen is the real villain here?"
"Isn't she? She came back from the dead and decided to take everything that belonged to me. My husband, my life, my daughter's father."
"Your husband was never yours to begin with. The marriage is fraudulent, remember?"
"Legally, maybe. But emotionally, morally, he was mine. We built a life together. We have a child together."
"And he threw all of that away the moment Imogen walked back into Portland."
The words hit her like a physical blow. She sank into a chair, put her head in her hands.
"She's using you," Deborah said without looking up.
"What?"
"Imogen. She's using you the same way Elijah used me. You think you're different, special, but you're just another tool in her arsenal."
"You don't know what you're talking about."
