ELIJAH'S POV
"That's quite funny," the man from Nexus said, his voice carrying amusement.
I scoffed. "What's funny?"
"I should mention that I already took some initiative on this case already. I've been monitoring Issac Rossi's activities for the past week because your mother has already ordered our services. She was getting us to watch Isaac Rossi, Imogen Stone, and Josephine Rossi."
The words hit me like cold water. "Wow. Interesting indeed. I wonder why she never mentioned it."
"What have you found out then?"
The man chuckled. "She paid for the service, not you. Pay for yours and we'll have something to talk about."
"And if it's useless to me?"
Another chuckle. "Trust me, it's not. Nothing we dig is useless. You know our services well."
My jaw clenched. "I'll send the check. How much?"
He quoted a figure that made me wince, but I needed information more than I needed money right now.
"Done deal. Now give it to me."
