Zheng Haoyu remained silent for a long time and so, Su Nian realised he had accepted her decision. Unbidden, a droplet of liquid slid down her cheek and Su Nian gave a bitter smile, surprised to realise that she could still feel sad, still cry.
"Auntie, don't cry," suddenly Lian Ze yelled out crisply. Children were the most sensitive and honest creatures in the world. Even as he played happily, he could feel a wave of sadness emanating from within Su Nian that surrounded her.
Everyone in the study was taken aback. Zheng Haoyu rushed over upon realising that the study door was ajar and found Su Nian inside. His face, already stern, transformed into a pale mask. Did Su Nian hear their conversation? Was she disappointed in him?
Su Nian quickly wiped away the tear from her face before looking down at Lian Ze with a feeble smile, "Auntie is not crying."
She discreetly turned a dial on her wristwatch hidden by her sleeve. This would enable Luoz to find her.
