Chapter 9 - ZERO

"Welcome to Trial Zero! Congratulations to those who have made it this far. Well, let's skip the classic story, and I'll explain briefly:

1. I said 10 trials, but we start counting from zero. Zero is the absolute number. It means everything and nothing.

2. Now you will be judged by the GODS, and those who make you offers will be your sponsors/protectors or however you want to call them.

3. If you don't receive any offer, it means you will be eliminated.

4. If you receive multiple offers, you can choose. But remember, a God can only have 5 avatars. So, don't think that the gods you worship will fight over you.

With that said, let ZERO begin!!!

 Signed Mr. D.R.K. "

"Ares, the Greek God of War, has made you an offer."

"Loki, the Norse God of Mischief, has proposed an offer."

"Helel, the Fallen Star, has offered you a deal."

"Anubis, the Egyptian God of Death, has made an offer."

"Leviathan, the King of Sea Monsters, has offered a deal."

"Odin, the King of the Norse Gods, has made an offer."

"Beelzebub, the Lord of the Flies, has offered a deal."

"Aim, the Duke of Hell, has made an offer."

"Wendigo, the Skinwalker, has offered you a deal."

"Belial, the King Without Worth, has made an offer."

"Ra, the Egyptian God of the Sun, has made an offer."

"Erebus, the Primordial God of Darkness and Shadows, has made an offer."

"Yama, the Indian God of Death, has made an offer."

"Izanagi, the Ancestor of Shinto Gods, has made you an offer."

'I have to be careful...' he thinks anxiously, looking at the boxes with the names of the Gods.

'Ares? A good option, especially since I know he's been watching me from the Colosseum.'

'Loki... a good option if he weren't so deceitful. His intelligence is a lethal weapon,' he exhales nervously, glancing at the next one.

'Helel? Who is the "Fallen Star"? I have no idea, but I remember hearing about him somewhere...'

'Anubis? Hmm, I don't know what to say about him. I know he's quite proud. Besides, I don't like being judged,' he says as he takes a deep breath.

'The legendary monster? Leviathan! A creature that brings the Apocalypse in mythology. If it's as powerful as in stories... it would be the best... Wait, I've changed my mind,' he says, surprised by the next name.

'Odin! The great leader of the Nordic Pantheon. Seems like the best option. But every legend has a kernel of truth. The God of War, of hanging, of wisdom, and last but not least, of betrayal...' he says, looking back at the next one.

'Beelzebub, one of the 7 Princes of Hell? The Lord of Flies... A good option, perhaps similar to Odin.'

'Aim? I don't know who you are... and compared to the others, you mean nothing. Sorry, but you can't measure up to any of the previous ones,' he says, looking at the previous offers.

'Helel, Helel... where have I heard that name?' he says irritably.

'Wendigo? Correction, Aim, you're above this wizard, whatever he may be, exactly among Native Americans.'

'Belial? Another Prince of Hell! I'll put you on the list too,' he says, smiling.

'Ra? Oh, we have something interesting, possibly at the level of Odin. The great God of the Egyptians. I'm really curious about what I could get from this god,' he says, full of joy.

'Erebus? The one who bet 100k gold on me in round 10! The primordial God of Darkness and Shadows? What? Now Odin and Ra seem to have serious competition,' he says, looking back at Hell's offer. 'It means we have gods who are "disappeared '' or with multiple names. Who are you?'

'Yama! Another tough name among the Gods of Death! Interesting, but I don't like your mythology,' he says, looking at the next one.

'Izanagi! Another primordial God?! Shinto? Japan, if I'm not mistaken. I've always wanted to go there. A good option for you too,' he says, looking at his offer.

"Alright, now that I know who the Gods are that offered me, it would be good to reject the weak ones and choose the important ones," he says as he looks at the offers.

"Wendigo, goodbye. You don't even compare to the next one," he rejects the offer.

"Aim, you're a name among demons. Solomon's Book is proof of that. But compared to the others, you're useless," he says this and rejects the offer.

"Yama, sorry, but I don't like India. Not the mythology, but how poorly the image is due to certain circumstances," he says, refusing this offer as well.

"Ares, although I like Greek mythology, especially the stories of Olympus. See the rest of the offers? So, I'm sorry," he says and rejects the offer.

"Loki! A double-edged blade... even Odin fears your mind. That's proof that you're a true treasure. But your personality... it drags you down," he rejects this offer too.

"Anubis... the God of Death... the Jackal God... a true honor, but you can't compete with the finalists," he says, looking at the next one.

"Leviathan! The Apocalypse Monster? If the others weren't true gods, you would be the choice," rejecting the offer.

"Beelzebub... Gluttony, one of the seven sins. A true Demon, a fallen king forgotten... Lord of the Flies. Compared to those who were, you weigh a lot. But... we have rarer guys!" he refuses, looking at the next one.

"Belial... you've lost your value in front of them..." he says, looking at the next one.

"Izanagi, even though I love your country, its history, and culture, you don't compare to the ones left," refusing his offer.

"Ra! A truly important name. The God of the Sun! A power befitting the reputation... although I feel honored, I'll take the risk and reject your offer."

"Helel!! The weirdest of them all. I still can't figure out who you are... 'Fallen Star.' I don't want to risk and make a mistake. Especially now," he says as he rejects the offer.

"Odin and Erebus, you two are left!" he says through gritted teeth.

"Odin, a God in the truest sense of the word. Your own kingdom... You sacrificed an eye to gain exceptional winsdom. You risked your life hanging from Yggdrasil to use magic... A warrior unmatched. An army of millions or even billions of fearless soldiers under your command. But betrayal is something you're known for, and I won't join your army." He says as he rejects the offer and looks towards the last one.

"Erebus... you bet 100k on me. Now it's my turn to bet on you!"

*Perspective of the Gods*

"What an idiot. I'll make sure he eats his words. He didn't choose me because he doesn't like India... what a wretch," Yama says nervously.

"I'll send my avatars to kill him," Wendigo shouts nervously.

"Aim? Leviathan? Aren't you upset? About this miserable human," Loki says, fixing his gaze on Kedra.

"As he said, I can't measure up to any of you," Aim says, looking after other contestants.

"I couldn't compete with Helel or Ra themselves," Leviathan adds, looking at Helel.

"Helel, why didn't you use the name they gave you now?" Belial asks.

"In this game, I want to see how many truly know my real name," Helel says, looking towards a shining god.

"Enough nonsense," Ares says, smiling. "Old Erebus is back in the game," he says, looking at a silhouette darker than the night.

"Indeed. Erebus, you haven't played for 3 games. I still don't know why... but I'm glad to see you entering again," a God with a solid body adds.

"Grandpa Chronos, were you eavesdropping?" Ares asks, surprised.

"News travels fast, especially when you're the God of Time!" Chronos says, shrugging.

"I don't know why, but the kid made a risky bet," Ra says. "He told Helel that he wouldn't risk, but he chose you. It's quite amusing."

"Ra, it's not amusing that he ignored you too, huh? I say the kid has a good instinct. In the end, excluding Chronos, we all made an offer from this table," Odin says, looking at everyone.

"That's why I hate these gatherings... And I haven't been drawn to the Game in the last editions. This kid has something I liked," Erebus adds, looking at another contestant.

"Two 'Avatars' for you, Uncle Erebus," adds a god, muscular with traces of lightning on his body.

"Welcome, Dad! Take a seat. And you just said that Uncle Erebus has two avatars?" Ares asks.

"Calm down, son! Yes. Erebus won against your mother for a girl. She's a bit upset," Zeus says.

"So, I understand that you'll play quite well, Brother!" Chronos says.
