He Longze stood motionless at the door for a moment, finally taking a step forward, entering the ward and heading straight to He Yiran's bedside, placing the food on the nightstand.
"This is plain porridge, eat it while it's hot. I have something to do, so I'll be leaving first."
With that, he turned around…
"Brother, what am I to you?"
He Yiran called out to him, her eyes suddenly reddening, on the verge of tears.
He Longze stopped in his tracks again, his figure turned away from her, standing exceptionally tall and aloof, like a mountain too lofty to reach.
What is she in his eyes?
Sister?
If she were a sister, then he wouldn't have easily hit her.
Then what is she?
Perhaps from beginning to end, she's nothing at all!
But he couldn't bring himself to say such cruel words to the injured He Yiran.
After a moment of silence, he responded faintly, "What you are in my eyes doesn't depend on what I say you are, but on yourself. Do your duty, and you'll be what you should be."
