"We did it!" Ruby shouted happily when she saw the Nevermore disappear.
"Yes we did!" Yang said happily with a confident smirk on her face.
"It was not anything that impressive. Huntsmen deal with them all the time." Weiss said as she corrected her clothes.
"Oh just leave them be." Blake said as she fixed the girl with a blank stare.
Weiss raised her eyebrows at that but didn't say anything as she watched the sisters celebrating the defeat of the Grimm. "Hey we should go to Jaune's group. He helped bring the Nevermore down for us." Ruby said as she turned to them with a bright smile.
"Do we have to?" Weiss said with a frown at hearing his name.
"Yes. Vomit boy helped us after all. So we should at least say thanks." Yang said with a smile and a nod.
"Then let's go." Ruby said happily as she ran towards his group with her semblance.
Yang laughed before she ran after her sister before Blake and Weiss also followed the two of them. Of course, Ruby had already reached Jaune's group as they looked at her as she approached them.
As for Jaune's group, after Jaune had confirmation that the Grimm had been defeated he lay on the ground as he let out a breath of air in relief.
"Thank Oum it worked." Jaune said as he slowly sat up.
"That was a great plan Jaune." Pyrrha said with a smile as she looked at him.
"Th-Thanks Pyrrha. You were a great help." Jaune said with a weak smile as he slowly got up.
"I must, that was a well thought out plan, even if we were in a situation where we wouldn't be able to defeat that Deathstalker, you came up with a plan which would give us a good way to get rid of it." Ren said with a smile as he looked at Jaune.
"It wasn't anything special." Jaune said as he scratched the back of his head as he felt embarrassed.
"Nu-uh! That was so cool! You kicked the Deathstalker, hit the Nevermore and then blew it to smithereens with my grenade. You were great, fearless leader." Nora said with excitement and a happy face.
"Fearless what?" Jaune said in surprise at her words.
Pyrrha giggled at the nickname but then she felt someone approaching and turned around, as she could only see a red blue fly past her and collide with Jaune. With said red blur revealing itself to be Ruby as she hugged Jaune with a bright smile.
"That was great Jaune! We defeated a Nevermore AND a Deathstalker!" Ruby said excitedly as she looked at him with bright happy eyes.
"Yes we did. I can't believe that we actually managed to do that." Jaune said as he laughed as he looked at her.
"Hey now Ruby. You can't just go and hug him like that." Yang said as she reached them.
"Why not? He's my first friend in Beacon, of course I can hug him." Ruby said as she tightened her hug to prove the point.
"Haha. Thanks Ruby!" Jaune said as he also hugged her in return.
'Man, when was the last time I hugged someone other than one of my sisters like this.' Jaune thought to himself as he hugged her.
But then he saw Yang looking at him with a raised eyebrow as he nervously stopped hugging Ruby and picked her up and placed her on the ground as he stood straight.
"Well, that was a good plan vomit boy. Especially when you hit that Nevermore and made it easier for us to kill it." Yang said to him as she grinned.
"Really?" Jaune said as he was surprised that he was being complimented this much.
"I have to agree with her on that. It was a good tactic considering the fact that you are only a Huntsman in training." Blake said as she reached them.
"Oh, uh thanks." Jaune said as he scratched the back of his head bashfully.
"Don't let it go to your head Arc. It was a simple plan." Weiss said to him with a frown as she reached the group.
"Weiss." Ruby whined as she looked at her partner.
"What? Anyone could've come up with that if they had the same time to think as Arc here." Weiss said as she looked at the younger girl.
Pyrrha frowned at her words and Nora seemed to have also not liked how she had said it.
"Well, I guess you're right about that. I mean, I didn't actually managed to do much damage to be fair. But, I think we should seriously get back. We already have the relics after all." Jaune said to them as he looked at them.
"He is right. Lingering here anymore will only increase the risk to meeting other Grimm. We should head back." Ren said with a nod at that.
'He is quite humble.' Ren thought to himself as he glanced at Jaune for a second.
"Ok. This is going to be great. Let's go!" Ruby shouted happily as she ran forward.
"Don't just start running like that!" Weiss said as she watched the girl go.
Yang, Nora and Jaune laughed at the actions of the reaper which Pyrrha and Blake slightly giggled at her energy. Ren himself just smiled at the sight of such an energetic huntress.
"Well, let's not waste more time." Pyrrha said as the rest nodded before they ran towards the little reaper.
Small timeskip
Jaune and the rest had reached back to where the initiation started and they were now amongst the crowd of students as they were being called and formed into teams of 4.
"Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladona, Yang Xiao Long." Ozpin called the names as the four of them got on the stage.
'Oh good, Yang is with me.' Ruby thought to herself as she felt a bit relieved about that fact.
"From now on, they will be known as team Ruby (RWBY), and their leader will be miss Ruby Rose." Ozpin said with a smile as he looked at the team.
"What?" Weiss said in shock at hearing that Ruby became the leader.
"I am the leader." Ruby said in shock as she couldn't believe her ears.
"Heh, that's my little sis." Yang said with a smirk.
"Well, I have no problems with that." Blake said with a shrugged her shoulders.
She looked at the rest of her teammates before at the crowd, and she spotted Jaune smiling at her as she smiled as well at seeing it.
Ruby and her team got off the stage and stood with the rest of the teams as Ozpin kept up with the team formation.
"Jaune Arc, Pyrrha Nikos, Lie Ren, Nora Valkyrie." Ozpin called out the names as the four of them got on stage.
Of course, when Pyrrha's name was uttered by Ozpin, the students were abuzz, after all, she is a famous person who is know throughout the kingdoms. Pyrrha herself felt flustered as she smiled as she walked, but the smile was anything but genuine. The four of them got on stage and stood together as they looked at the crowd.
"They will now be known as team Juniper (JNPR). The leader will be Mr. Jaune Arc." Ozpin said with a smile as he addressed the crowd.
"Wait what?" Jaune said in shock at hearing that.
"That is a good choice." Ren said with a smile at hearing the decision of their headmaster.
"Yeah!" Nora said excitedly with a bright smile.
"You'll be a wonderful leader Jaune." Pyrrha said with a kind and genuine smile on her face.
"Th-Thanks Pyrrha." Jaune said as he scratched the back of his head.
'I'm the leader?' Jaune thought to himself as he couldn't believe this himself as he saw Ruby smiling and waving at him as he smiled as well.
He stood there for a few seconds before he also got off with his own team. He stood with the rest until all the teams were formed. Ozpin stood at the podium with Glynda at his side and he smiled at the assembled students.
"I am quite proud to see so many promising students this year. We expect great from all of you. Make close ties to your teams, because you will be with them for the rest of your time in Beacon. May you all grow up to be the great Huntsmen and Huntresses that all of you are capable of being. And I sincerely hope that you will enjoy your time at Beacon." Ozpin said with a smile on his face as he stepped away from the podium.
He swept his eyes over the assembled students and he couldn't help but smile at all the new students who have come to his academy to study and become Huntsmen. His gaze lingered on Ruby, Weiss, Yang, Blake, Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren and Nora as he couldn't help his smile from widening.
'Rose, Xiao Long, Branwen, Belladona, Schnee, Arc, Nikos, Valkyrie and Lie, I suppose I shall see how much they will grow.' Ozpin thought to himself as he looked at the eight students.

Teams RWBY and JNPR made their way to the dorms with their luggage after the instructions were given by Glynda as they made their way to the place with the map they were given.
"Oh I can't wait to see our dorm room." Nora said happily as she walked with her team.
"Calm down Nora, we're inside the hall right now." Rena said to her as he smiled wistfully.
"Oh oh, after we make our dorms we should totally meet up! A team party!" Ruby said excitedly as she walked in front of her team.
"Don't just start making decisions suddenly." Weiss said as she grumbled as she pulled her luggage.
"She's the leader, Weiss cream." Yang said to her with a smirk.
"Don't call me that." Weiss said with a grumble as she glared at the blonde. "Sure." Yang said non commitedly as she walked while Blake had a small smile at the Schnee heiress' face.
"We can think about throwing a party after we get comfortable Ruby." Jaune said to her with a smile.
"Why?" Ruby asked with a cute pout.
"Because we don't have any idea about this place. I think we should do it after we find the correct time for it." Jaune said with a shrug.
'Oum knows how many times I had to plan things out to make sure that there aren't any problems.' Jaune thought to himself as he walked.
"Don't worry about it fearless leader. We're going to be fine!" Nora said happily as Ren just shook his head with a smile.
"Anyway, how long are we going to have to walk, Jaune?" Pyrrha asked him as she wanted to get the topic from the party.
"Just a few more and we're here." Jaune said to her as he stopped in front of a door.
"This is our dorm room?" Ren asked his leader.
"Yeah, this is it. This is our room Ruby." Jaune said as he turned to his friend.
"Yeah, uh, and this is ours." Ruby said after she looked at her scroll a few more times before she pointed at the door right across from team JNPR.
Both groups blinked their eyes when they heard that as they looked at the two doors.
"So, we're going to be right across from each other?" Yang said in surprise as she looked at the two doors.
"Looks like it." Blake said as she was surprised.
"Oh you can't be serious." Weiss muttered to herself as she glanced at Jaune for a second.
"Oh, this is convenient." Pyrrha said as she blinked at the turn of events.
"Wait, that means we can see each other whenever we want!" Nora said happily as she jumped in excitement.
"Sure Nora." Ren said as he chuckled at her enthusiasm.
"Okay, I wasn't expecting that." Jaune said as he was also surprised by the arrangement.
"We're going to be living right across from each other! Yes!" Ruby shouted happily as she jumped in place before she ran to her dorm room.
She immediately opened it as she watched the inside with wide eyes, though the sight of four beds caused some of her excitement to dim.
"There are no bunk beds!" Ruby whined as she felt some disappointment at the sight.
"Ah don't worry about it Rubes. I'm sure we can work something out." Yang said with a smirk as she saw the place.
"Should I be worried?" Weiss asked Blake as the two were behind Yang.
"Maybe. They seem chaotic." Blake said in a monotone voice.
On JNPR's side, Nora immediately bolted into the room with excitement while her group chuckled at her enthusiasm.
"She's very energetic." Pyrrha said with a smile at the actions of the ginger.
"Nora is pretty hyperactive. Don't let her anywhere near sugar though." Ren said before he said the last part more seriously.
"Why?" Pyrrha asked him curiously.
"Let's just say that giving her sugar will increase her energy and we don't want that to happen." Ren said with a slight shiver.
"Sugar rush?" Jaune asked him as he remembered how his little sisters acted.
"Sugar rush." Ren confirmed with a nod at that.
"Sugar rush?" Pyrrha asked in curiosity.
"You don't know what a sugar rush is?" Jaune said in surprise.
"No." Pyrrha said as she felt embarrassed.
"Don't worry about it Pyrrha. I'll tell you about it. It's... Ren, is she picking up a bed?" Jaune said as he was about to explain before abruptly stopping and asked him teammate as he saw Nora with the bed.
"I'll take care of it." Ren said immediately as he placed his stuff down and went inside to calm down his friend.
"Guess it will be a bit chaotic huh." Jaune said with a light chuckle at the antics of his teammates.
"I'm sure we'll be fine." Pyrrha said with a smile as she looked at her teammates.
Timeskip
"Are you guys ready?" Jaune asked his team as it was time for dinner.
"Yeah, we're done." Ren said with a nod as Nora nodded with a smile on her face.
"Time for pancakes!" Nora shouted as she ran past him in the direction of the cafeteria.
Inadvertently causing Jaune to spin in place due to the speed in which she had ran as he finally stopped and felt dizzy as he tried to gain his balance.
"Jaune." Pyrrha went to his side and helped him stabilize.
Jaune took some time to get a hold of himself, after which he looked at his partner with a thankful and bashful smile.
"Thanks Pyrrha. Wow, she was fast." Jaune said as he recovered.
"Nora is really passionate about pancakes. I should probably go after her. See you at the cafeteria." Ren said before he ran in the direction of his friend.
"Shall we go as well?" Pyrrha asked her partner eagerly.
"Wait a moment, I had promised Ruby that we will go together." Jaune said to her as she nodded. They exited the room and then for RWBY to come out. Jaune went and knocked on the door.
"Ruby? We're ready." Jaune said after knocking on the door.
"Just a minute!" Ruby shouted from the other side.
The two then heard the sound of shouting from the room as the two exchanged nervous smiles before the door opened as Ruby appeared with a bright smile on her face.
"We're ready!" Ruby said happily as she stood in front of Jaune in her usual clothes.
From the room Yang walked out as she appeared with a grin, followed by Blake who has a calm face and Weiss who was grumbling as she rubbed her head.
"So, shall we go?" Jaune asked them with a smile.
"Let's go!" Ruby said as she ran to the cafeteria in excitement, with Jaune as she had grabbed his hand as he was pulled with her.
Jaune could only laugh as he was pulled by her as he saw how happy she looked.
"And there she goes. Ruby wait up!" Yang said before she ran after her sister.
"Wait for me!" Pyrrha said with a smile as she ran after the two leaders.
"Those two." Weiss said with a frown when she saw their leaders go.
"Let's go." Blake said as she jogged after them.
Weiss sighed before she also followed them to the cafeteria. Ruby and Jaune reached the cafeteria as they looked at it and were shocked at how spacious it is.
"Wow! The place is so huge!" Ruby said happily.
"I wonder what kind of things they will have for us to eat." Jaune said as he looked at the place, equally in awe at the size.
"Let's go. We can get food fast." Ruby said as she dragged him as he chuckled.
They got in the line, Ruby was in front of Jaune, and Yang caught up to them as she stood behind him, followed by Pyrrha, Blame and finally Weiss.
They all got their food and then went to the table where Ren and Nora were sitting, with the hyperactive girl gourging on lots of pancakes. Jaune and Pyrrha sat on their side, while team RWBY sat opposite JNPR.
"Oh they have everything." Yang said with a bright smile as she started to eat her food.
"As expected of Beacon." Weiss said as she started to eat.
"They do have a great variety of food." Blake said as she ate her tuna.
"They have everything." Ruby said happily with a bright smile.
"Yeah, they sure do." Jaune said with a smile as he looked at his plate.
"Well, things are off to a good start." Pyrrha said with a smile as she sat with her group.
"It sure looks like it." Ren said as Nora mumbled with her mouth full.
"Well, we also have to make sure that we get to class on time tomorrow. I suppose you also got the time table?" Weiss asked as she looked at her team.
Her team nodded at her words in confirmation as Jaune looked at his own team and they nodded their heads as well.
"Well, I do wonder how classes are going to be tomorrow." Weiss said curiously as she ate her food.
"We can think about it tomorrow. Right now let's eat." Yang said as she ate her food with gutso.
"Yeah, this is quite good." Jaune said as he ate alongside his teammates.
"After this I'll eat my cookies." Ruby said as she looked at the bunch of cookies she has on her plate as Yang chuckled at her sister's love for cookies.
The two teams had a good time during dinner, after which they all went back to their dorm rooms.
"See you tomorrow." Jaune said to Ruby as she waved at him before she went inside her room, the rest of her team having already gone inside.
Jaune went inside his own room and saw his teammates getting ready to go to bed. He went to his own bed and prepared the things as he changed into his pajamas as he laid on the bed.
"Well, all things considered, this was a good day." Jaune said to himself as he looked at his scroll.
"I suppose. We shall see how it's going to be tomorrow." Ren said calmly as he talked with Nora.
"I'm sure it will be amazing!" Nora said excitedly as she jumped on her bed.
"Nora, sleep. We need to be on time." Ren said to her as she pouted at that.
"But Renny, we just got our rooms!" Nora whined at that.
"And tomorrow we will have classes, so we can't be late, especially on the first day." Ren said to her calmly at that.
Nora pouted at that as Pyrrha and Jaune smiled slightly at the sight in front of them. The two looked at each other and couldn't help but smile as well.
"Well, I hope you get good sleep." Pyrrha said to him with a smile.
"You too Pyrrha. Have a good night." Jaune said as he read some articles regarding aura and semblances.
'There is so much I don't know about being a Huntsman, I hope I will be able to do this.' Jaune thought to himself as he looked at his blade.
He ran his hand over the sword and sheath as he smiled at the weapon, before he had come to Beacon, he had taken some practice swings with, though he still needs time to adjust to the shield.
In any case, this was the sword of his ancestor, and he intends to make sure that he can make them proud. More than that, he wants to become a Huntsman just like his grandfather and ancestors.
'Ancestors, if you're watching me, then please give me some help. I want to become a hero like all of you. And if possible, like the Rusted Knight as well.' Jaune thought to himself as he remembered his favourite tale.
Alongside the tales of his ancestors, the story of the Rusted Knight had inspired him to become a Huntsman, so he wants to make sure that he can become someone like his ancestors and the fabled hero.
'All of them were amazing, even Ruby. I have to train hard if I want to stand with them. I have to make sure that I become stronger.' Jaune thought to himself as he started reading through more articles on his scroll.

When Jaune woke up the next morning, he was treated to the sight of Ren calmly sitting on his bed with a smile on his face. He blinked as he saw that the time was 7 and rubbed his eyes. He looked at Pyrrha's and Nora's beds and saw that they were still asleep.
"Aren't you gonna wake her up?" Jaune asked the man as he gestured to Nora.
"Not right now. She is a heavy sleeper, so I'll give her some more time to sleep." Ren said to him with a smile.
"Right. Pyrrha?" Jaune said as he stretched his body and felt some satisfying pops as he turned to his partner. He called her out a few times, but she didn't respond and kept on sleeping with her back turned to him.
'Is she a heavy sleeper as well?' Jaune thought to himself as he looked at her.
"Pyrrha. Pyrrha, wake up." Jaune called as he shook her a bit.
She grumbled a bit but she didn't do much, but he tried to wake her up as he had experience with his siblings. But what he didn't expect was for her to suddenly turn around for her arm to come down on his head, effectively slamming onto him as he was sent to the floor.
His head hit the floor but his aura protected him as he groaned from the whiplash of the sudden change. He picked himself up and looked at Ren who looked at him with a worried face.
"You okay Jaune?" Ren asked as he knew that aura would protect him.
"I'm fine. Aura helps." Jaune said as he got up.
He looked at Pyrrha and saw her sitting on her bed with bed hair and droopy eyes as she yawned as she stretched her arms before she looked at him. Pyrrha smiled when she saw Jaune.
"Hey Jaune, *yawn*. Good morning." Pyrrha greeted as she looked at him with a smile.
"Hey Pyrrha, good morning." Jaune said as he rubbed his head.
"Oh I got a good sleep today." Pyrrha said with a smile as she let out another yawn as well.
"Well, I will be taking a bath quickly." Jaune said as she nodded as he went to take the bath.
After he went into the bathroom he looked at himself in the mirror as he splashed his face with water and looked at himself.
"Alright Jaune, it's time to work really hard." Jaune said to himself as he nodded to himself.
After that he took a bath quickly and the rest of his team followed suit. Then they all got ready, though it took time for Nora to get ready. They quickly made it to breakfast and then to class, though RWBY were late but managed to reach class at the last minute, escaping Glynda's anger by a small margin.
They also met other professors as well, Professor Port and Doctor Oobleck being the more eccentric ones who left a lasting impression on them.
Though Jaune didn't have much problems with hearing the two talk, since he was used to it due to being subjected to hours of blabbering by his little sisters. Though he did fall asleep in the middle since it was boring compared to what his sister's told him.
"Professor Port really talks a lot." Jaune said with a chuckle as he sat with his team and RWBY.
Though this time Pyrrha is sitting on his right and Ruby is sitting on his left. The reaper said that it was because he is her friend and she can, and he didn't mind it to be honest as he enjoyed the company.
Because honestly, he can't handle Nora. The girl has too much energy that he couldn't believe it.
"Yeah, I fell asleep during Professor Oobleck's class as well. I couldn't understand it." Ruby said with a sigh as she leaned on the table.
"Well, you two are definitely sisters." Blake said in a monotone voice as she ate.
"I had half a mind to smack you awake, but you fell asleep again after I woke you up on both of their classes." Weiss said as she gave Ruby a blank stare.
"Ehehe." Ruby let out a nervous laugh as she tried to shield herself from her gaze using Jaune.
"Well, they are pretty passionate about their respective fields." Pyrrha said with a smile on her face.
"Gotta agree on that." Jaune said as he could remember the words of the professor.
'Still, I would rather not have to hear all that history, especially since I had learned it a long time ago, and revised it.' Jaune thought to himself as he ate his food.
"Don't worry about it guys. I can do better." Ruby said with a smile as she started to eat her food.
Jaune chuckled at the sight, as did Pyrrha and Yang as they made idle talk about their classes. After lunch, it was time for Combat Class which was taken by Glynda, and Jaune watched Ruby and an unnamed student fight and he was again impressed by her skill.
"I'm still surprised she can use it so well." Jaune said as he watched with wide eyes.
"Ruby really loves it and has practiced on it many times." Yang said with a smile as she felt proud of her sister.
"Well, she is a good fighter." Weiss said as she knew that the little reaper is a skilled fighter for her age.
"No doubt about that." Blake said with a nod.
"Well, if you are using a weapon like that then you have to be quite skilled." Pyrrha said with a smile as she watched the girl. "Yeah go Ruby!" Nora shouted as Ren just shook his head.
"Regardless, I can say with confidence that the skill she has with her weapon is one of the best I've seen. Not many can use a weapon that is larger than their own body so efficiently." Ren said with a smile at seeing her fight.
Jaune watched the girl as he had a sad smile at seeing the skill that she has, as he felt a bit envious of the girl due to how strong she is.
'Ruby is so good at using her weapon and Semblance. I really need to learn more and get stronger. Isn't there a gym here? Yeah, I think I should go there.' Jaune thought to himself as he decided to watch the girl.
Ruby managed to win quite easily as she was very fast which made her opponent confused due to her speed as they weren't able to effectively attack her. And thankfully for him, he wasn't called for a fight which saved him.
After classes were done he split from his team. RWBY had gone on their own, Ren and Nora wanted to go out and explore more of Beacon, though it was Nora who was more interested in it, with Ren accompanying her to make sure that she will not do anything drastic.
Pyrrha herself wanted to go to the library so she didn't mind as he went to the gym. He reached the place and saw that there wasn't anyone inside which caused him to raise an eyebrow as he had thought that there would be some 2nd or 3rd year students using the gym.
Jaune looked at his arms and tried to will his aura to appear like before in the battle, but it didn't, which didn't sit well with him. He has tried to call on it again but he failed to do it, it only appears when he gets hit, like how he was hit by Pyrrha.
'Was it because of the adrenaline and the fear during the fight? It might be because of that.' Jaune thought to himself as he sighed.
He first removed his shirt as he looked at the punching bag as he frowned at it.
'Aura heals whenever I am damaged. No matter how small it is. Then doesn't that mean that it might also heal muscle as well?' Jaune thought to himself as he looked at his hands.
"Well, I can't use aura to enhance my attacks since I can't call on them so might as well try to learn to use my fists more. I guess I can also increase my muscles as well." Jaune said to himself as he looked at the punching bag.
Jaune clenched his hands a few times before he raised his fists, then he punched the bag as the sound of his fist hitting it was heard. He winced a bit as he never actually punched like this before but he wasn't going to stop.
He then started to give more punches as the punching bag shook from the attacks as he hissed a bit as he felt his knuckles hurt from the repeated attacks. But his aura quickly healed it as he looked at his knuckles.
"Alright, that's good." Jaune said to himself as he looked at the punching bag.
After making sure that his aura will heal him, Jaune kept on with punching the bag as he got more used to the way of punching as he slowly corrected his posture to something that felt natural for him.
After that he used the escalator in moderate speeds as he ran on it. He felt his leg muscles burn after running on it for a good while before he felt his aura work on the damage and heal it as he was able to keep on running. He smiled to himself as he increased the speed as he ran.
After that he did push ups, squats and other exercises. It wasn't like he had a bad body or anything, in fact, he was pretty fit as he has good muscles and a pretty fit body, though it wasn't chiseled or anything.
'I have to take care of that.' Jaune thought to himself as he did the exercises while replying on his aura to heal the damage.
"Now that I think about it, if it is like normal healing, then maybe I will get more stronger from all the slight damage I take. That could actually work." Jaune said to himself as he couldn't help but smile.
'Alright Jaune, time to build up your body, and also train.' Jaune thought to himself as he looked at his hands with a smile on his face.

POV
Jaune returned to his dorm room and saw that he was the only one who was present there. He shrugged at that as he didn't find the absence of the three of them as he went and sat on his bed as he let out a sigh.
Then he pulled down the sleeve of his uniform and looked at his right forearm and saw how it had become more muscular and stronger as he flexed his muscles, as be can see that the muscles have become even more defined as well.
"It actually worked." Jaune said to himself as he still couldn't believe that the little idea he got actually worked in increasing the strength of his arm as he can literally feel it.
'With Aura, I don't have to wait for my body to heal as it will be healed almost instantly and I can keep on training. But why hasn't anyone else have done this?' Jaune thought to himself as he pulled out his scroll. He searched for fight training and he blinked when he saw that all of it was of training the Aura of the person and on how to better control it and increase their own power.
"Wait, all of it is training with Aura. They don't exclusively train their muscles?" Jaune said to him in surprise at the info.
'Well, I was able to do a lot of training with my aura healing me, so, maybe I can use this to train my body and also better my technique as well, I think.' Jaune thought to himself as he sat there.
He read some more info before he decided that he will also do some more exercises since he can't exactly practice with his sword in the room as he wanted to make his body more developed and get a more fit body as well.
He did a lot of push-ups, squats, and other calisthenics that he knows about to better his body further. He knows that the exercises will better his balance and body coordination due to the use of more muscles, at least that's what it said on the net.
In any case, whether it was true or not, he did the exercises as he felt his entire body burn from the workout and be healed just as quickly by his Aura. He did it for a good amount of time before he stopped and then sat on the bed and sighed.
'Will this help?' Jaune thought to himself as he looked at his hands.
He can feel that his body is changing shape, or rather his muscles are becoming more defined and stronger without the Aura. It was further proven when he was able to feel that his sword, Crocea Mors was lighter in his hands than before.
Truly, Aura is a blessing." Jaune said as he chuckled to himself.
He then did some more exercises before he decided to spend some time on the bed, and it was a few minutes after when Pyrrha entered the room. She smiled when she saw him as he also smiled back at her.
"Hey Pyrrha, done with the library?" Jaune asked her with a smile.
"Yeah, I finished what I wanted to do. How about you Jaune?" Pyrrha asked with a smile as she sat on her chair beside the desk.
"Yeah, I also did what I wanted. I just hope that I will be able to handle Beacon you know. I'm not that skilled." Jaune said as he chuckled nervously.
"But you were so great at fighting during the initiation." Pyrrha said as she looked at him.
"Yeah but, Pyrrha, it was just during battle and I can't... I can't bring out my Aura." Jaune said as he held his hands out and tried to call on his Aura to no avail.
"You can't?" Pyrrha asked in surprise at his words.
"Yeah, I tried Pyrrha. But my Aura only appears when I get hit or if it's to heal any damage done to me." Jaune said sadly as he sat there.
"Jaune. You had only just gotten your Aura unlocked during initiation. I'm sure you will be able to use it in time." Pyrrha said to him with a kind smile.
"You think so?" Jaune asked her nervously.
"Yes Jaune. Look, it might be because you had only just unlocked your Aura, so maybe you need some time to get used to the feeling of having your Aura unlocked." Pyrrha said to him as he nodded.
"Okay. Thanks Pyrrha." Jaune said with a nervous laugh.
"It's fine Jaune, that's what teammates are for." Pyrrha said as she blushed as she said more before she looked away and scratched her cheek.
'I-I said it correctly, right?' Pyrrha thought to herself as she felt a bit of embarrassment.
"Yeah. Well, when do you think Ren and Nora will come back." Jaune said curiously as he looked at the door.
"I don't know. But I think they will come back for dinner." Pyrrha said as he nodded.
Then the two of them spent time doing their own things and soon enough, Nora and Ren also before dinner. After that the team went to get dinner and soon RWBY also came and sat at their table like usual.
"Hey Jaune." Ruby said as she sat beside him.
"Hey Ruby." Jaune said with a smile in return.
"How was your day?" Ruby asked as she sat with her dinner.
"Nothing much. I just hope that I will be able to focus on Professor Ports classes more." Jaune said with a smile as she grinned at that.
"Yeah, but I guess he didn't see us so we are safe." Ruby said with a little chuckle.
He also chuckled and then they ate their food and enjoyed the time before they went to bed. Jaune went to bed early as he had a lot of think about and so he wanted to rest early.
Two days later
Jaune gulped as he stood in the arena during combat class. For the last two days, he has been spending time in the gym and polishing his body with the equipment and Aura and has also done some training as well. He still fell asleep during classes, but that wasn't much of a problem since Pyrrha would lend him her notes. He still wondered how she was able to take notes from Professor Port's and Doctor Oobleck's classes but he wasn't going to question it, especially since it is from his partner and is of great help to him.
During combat classes, he just watched as he wanted to know how the various Huntsmen in training were fighting and he couldn't help but feel nervous and inferior to them. Even if he had managed to defeat the Grimm, he still didn't have much confidence.
He needed the help of his team, and even then he didn't do much. And that is not to mention his lackluster skills in combat which weren't polished due to his own hastiness.
He had watched how team RWBY, his own teammates and many other Huntsmen fight, and he can say without a doubt that they are much much better than he is. And now he is standing in front of his first opponent, Cardin Winchester, and he couldn't help but gulp as he looked at the large guy.
It also didn't help that Cardin had started to bully him after the first day since he saw him as weak and Jaune didn't retaliate since he didn't want to get in trouble, especially with his dubious transcripts.
But now he is going to fight the guy himself and he is not feeling good about it. And from the smirk on Cardin's face, he can pretty much have a guess as to what he is thinking.
"Begin!" Glynda announced as she looked at them.
No sooner than she said it, Cardin was already on him. Using his Aura to boost his speed as he quickly closed the distance between the two as Jaune's eyes widened at the sight of the large teenager attacking him.
'Nope!' Jaune thought to himself as he kneeled and dodged the swing of his mace.
He jumped forward and rolled and stood up and looked at the guy as he couldn't help but grip his sword as the guy went for another attack. He immediately blocked it with his shield, but the force behind the attack shook his arm, though his Aura also came to help as it took the brunt of the blow as he just winced.
He became nervous as the guy came for another attack but he used his shield to block and divert it blow as he moved to the side as he used the force to move away as he grit his teeth.
'Shit, I can just keep on taking those hits.' Jaune thought to himself as he looked at the guy.
Cardin went for another attack as he swung his mace and Jaune used a shield bashed to redirect the strike, even though the attack took a good amount of his Aura as he thrust at his gut with as much power as he could.
Which connected as he was able to take some of the guys Aura, but he was hit with his shield as he was sent back from the attack as he groaned as he lost footing. But he didn't get the time to correct himself as just as he was doing that, Cardin bulldozed into him as he gasped and he was sent flying and he crashed into the wall as he cracked the wall as he gasped.
"Mr. Arc is out of bounds. The winner is Mr. Winchester." Glynda announced as she stopped the match.
"See you next time Jauney Boy." Cardin said with a smirk as he left the arena.
'Perfect.' Jaune thought to himself as he pulled himself off of the wall and left the arena.
He went back to his seat with a downed mood, but he saw his team and their sister team as well. Weiss didn't have much of a reaction, same with Blake. Yang just gave a shrug towards him with a nervous smile.
"You did good for the fight Jaune." Ruby said to him with an encouraging smile.
"Yeah well, I was defeated easily." Jaune said as he went and sat in his seat.
"It's alright, I'm sure you can get better." Pyrrha said to him with a smile.
"Yeah, don't worry fearless leader. You'll kick his butt soon! Or I'll break his legs!" Nora said excitedly with a smile.
"Nora, don't break his legs." Ren said to her calmly.
"But Renny!" Nora whined as she looked at her partner.
Ren remained stoic as she pouted, but her teammates just chuckled at her actions before their leader looked at the arena and let out a breath as he watched.
'I really need to improve fast.' Jaune thought to himself as he clenched his hands.
He wasn't down on his Aura, and while the attack was good, due to the exercises that he has been doing, his body has also naturally become even more durable and strong, so he wasn't that weak from the attack, but he was still sent flying out of the ring and had his wind knocked out, which displeased him.
'I can't be like this. I need to get stronger.' Jaune thought to himself as he looked down.
Pyrrha watched him as she couldn't help but feel sad at his face as she knew that he was frustrated by the loss.
'Well, Jaune is a good leader nonetheless. I mean, even if he wasn't strong enough to defeat Cardin, he is smart enough to come up with a plan pretty quickly.' Pyrrha thought to herself as she couldn't help but smile at the thought. She also knew that she didn't have much in the planning department. While she can make up a plan, she needs some time and would have taken longer to come up with one, when compared to how quickly Jaune came up with one. She has experience and proficiency in fighting, but planning and leading a group of people is another thing entirely.
'Don't worry Jaune, I'm sure you will get stronger.' Pyrrha thought to herself as she looked at the arena where the two combatants were fighting.
Jaune decided to watch how the students fought as he kept a keen eye on them and watched how they fought against each other using their weapons.
Soon, the combat class ended and it was time for lunch. Jaune grabbed his food and sat with his team and RWBY as usual as he let out a sigh.
"Come on, it wasn't that bad." Ruby said as she tried to cheer her friend up.
"He wiped the floor with me Ruby." Jaune said to her with a sigh.
"Don't let it get you down Jaune. I'm sure you can do better." Pyrrha said with a smile.
Jaune blinked at her words and slowly nodded at that before he smiled slightly at her partner.
"Thanks Pyrrha, really." Jaune said with a smile.
"Hey, I helped too." Ruby said with a pout.
"You too Ruby." Jaune said with a small laugh as he felt his mood brighten.
Ruby smiled happily at that as she ate her food adorably, as he couldn't help but smile at the sight of his adorable friend.
'I helped Jaune!' Ruby thought to herself happily as she ate her food.
Ruby hummed as she ate her food and it helped to better Jaune's mood. Pyrrha smiled at the sight of her leader being happier as she also dug into her meal.
'Maybe I should help Jaune?' Pyrrha thought to herself as she ate.
While the three were silently enjoying their time, Yang was watching Jaune and Ruby as her gaze moved from one to the other as she looked at Jaune suspiciously.
'He isn't trying to take Ruby away from me is he? Nah, he isn't capable of that.' Yang thought to herself before she dismissed her doubts and ate her food with a smile.
CHANGE LOCATION
POV
Jaune ran on the treadmill as he huffed as he ran at great speeds on the machine, well as much as he can manage as he was getting tired and healing in the middle by his Aura. The more tired he becomes, the more instantaneously, does his aura heal his body so the fatigue doesn't build up.
He felt his body burn from the exercise but he didn't mind it, especially since he remembered how much more powerful the other students in the school were.
After that he started to use the other equipment and then he trained with the punching bag as he attacked it without using any aura. He has however noted a definitive increase in his strength, especially compared to when he had first fought Cardin a week ago.
After his fight with Cardin, he didn't have much of an opportunity to train since he had to take care of school work so he was busy with that, especially since he had never been to a Huntsman school.
Which meant that he was going through the curriculum completely blind, and unlike Ruby who didn't have knowledge of the two years he had skipped, he didn't even have minimal knowledge that all the other students in the school who had went to Huntsman academies.
The result? He was barely passing his classes, which meant that he was subjected to miss Goodwitch's look of disappointment which was not good to be honest.
He was not only failing in fighting, but also in academics. Therefore being that he is the weakest and stupidest student in the history of the academy, which wasn't helping his own confidence very much.
So for the entire week, he has been trying to learn and train as much as he could, though he did also spend time reading comics and playing games since he doesn't want to always just be studying or training as it would be too boring for him, thankfully Ruby also liked comics and games so that was a plus. Though that didn't change the fact that he was defeated in his battle against another student in combat class which wasn't helping much, though he guessed that he was becoming better, he just hoped that he wouldn't be subjected to the headmistress' gaze of disappointment again.
Jaune panted a bit as he sat on the bench after punching the bag for a good while as he felt his aura heal his body as he sighed after a bit.
'I should go back to my dorm now.' Jaune thought to himself as he left the gym to get back to his room.
As he left the gym, a student entered the gym and went to the punching bag as he smiled.
"Alright, time for some light training." The student said as he punched the bag.
Though instead of the punching bag being pushed back, it exploded from receiving the punch and the sand inside exploded out, covering the student in the sand.
"What the hell man!?" The student cried out in shock as he was bathed in sand.
Jaune, not having any idea about what had transpired in the gym after he left, took a refreshing bath as he sighed to himself and then left the bath and got ready quickly as he looked at the evening sky as he remembered how much he had to learn in class.
'I didn't even understand half of what was taught, damn it, there were so many things that I was unfamiliar with.' Jaune thought to himself as he sighed.
"Is something bothering you Jaune?" Pyrrha said from the doorway.
"Ah I didn't do any... Pyrrha?" Jaune said in surprise as he jumped a bit and looked at his partner.
"What happened?" Pyrrha asked with a concerned gaze and tone.
"No it's just... Class was really hard." Jaune said as he scratched the back of his head.
"Do you want me to teach you?" Pyrrha asked with a smile as she walked to him.
"I mean, wouldn't it be a bother for you? Don't you have things to do?" Jaune said to her as he knew that she might be busy.
Pyrrha giggled at that as she looked at him.
'Only you would turn down something like this Jaune. I have seen many people who would jump at my offer.' Pyrrha thought to herself as she smiled at her partner.
"I'm not as busy as you think Jaune. Especially since I have now started studying in Beacon. I am free from my usual work as a champion you know." Pyrrha said to him with a smile.
"Oh really? Well, if it won't be a problem for you, I would really be glad." Jaune said as he scratched the back of his head.
"Well, then we can start right now and finish before dinner." Pyrrha said to him with a smile.
"If it's not a problem for you." Jaune said to her with a small smile.
"Great. Let's start." Pyrrha said to him with a smile as she went to the table and opened her notebook as she got ready to teach him.
Timeskip
Jaune and Pyrrha studied for two hours before she decided that it was fine to the day and now the two of them are in the cafeteria for lunch and just like usual, they are sitting with their team and RWBY.
"So, apparently this guy caused the punching bag to explode after one hit." Yang said with a smirk as she ate her food.
Ruby and Pyrrha were sitting on Jaune's left and right like usual, and the two teams didn't think much of it as it was normal for them at this point.
"Is that really such a big deal?" Jaune asked in surprise at hearing he.
"Of course. The equipment at Beacon are much more durable than normal ones, and especially in comparison to other Huntsman academies as well. So the fact that the guy was able to destroy it is a big deal." Blake said in a monotone voice at that.
"What about you Yang, don't you use it?" Ruby asked curiously.
"I use it from time to time but I don't use it much." Yang said with a shrug.
" Why not?" Ren asked curiously at hearing that as he thought that she would be the one who used it more considering the fact that she is a brawler.
"Well, my fighting style is using my semblance and I don't think it would be able to handle my full power anyway." Yang said with a confident smile as she ate her food.
"Could you please talk without food in your mouth?" Weiss asked in an irritated tone.
Oh come on Weisscream, I'm not that bad." Yang said with a smile as she looked at her sister's partner as the heiress' eyebrows twitched in response.
"In any case, he must have good arm strength to do that." Pyrrha said with a thoughtful look.
'I also hit the bag but I don't think it did much, especially since I don't use my aura the damage probably wasn't much.' Jaune thought to himself as he ate his food.
"So Jaune, about your sword and shield." Ruby said as she turned to her best friend.
"The answer is still no Ruby. I can't just modify a family heirloom." Jaune said as he gave her an apologetic smile.
"Aw come on. I could make it stronger." Ruby said to him as she pouted at that.
"Well his sword is pretty good as it is. And I also know that mechashift weapons have their own weaknesses. Besides, it's a simple design anyway." Ren said with a smile as he looked at his leader's blade.
"Well, I think it would be good because all of us have mecha shift weapons, though fearless leader is still very strong with only the sword." Nora said as she muched on her pancakes.
"I just think it's a bummer that his sword is so boring." Ruby said before she realised what she just said.
Jaune paused as he looked at her with a raised eyebrow as the others at the table also heard her as the reaper became flustered at her words.
"N-Not that there is anything wrong with that! I just think that you could upgrade it since it's... you know. I'm not saying anything about your great great grandfather or anything but..." Ruby fumbled about as she tried to explain herself with no success.
"Wow Rubes, great job." Yang said with a teasing smile.
"It's fine Ruby. I know you didn't mean it." Jaune said as he smiled at the younger girl as he knew that she didn't mean to insult him of anything.
"Th-Thanks Jaune. Sorry." Ruby said flustered as she heard that.
'Why did I say that?' Ruby thought to herself in embarrassment and shame.
"But seriously though, I don't want to change my sword." Jaune said to her with a small laugh.
"I think it's best if you leave Crocea Mors alone Ruby." Pyrrha said to the weapon enthusiast with a small smile.
"Fine." Ruby said to her as she sighed.
"Though it doesn't matter what weapon he uses if he doesn't have the skill." Weiss said sharply as she looked at the blonde.
"Come on Weiss, Jaune isn't that bad." Ruby said to her partner with a frown.
"No, he's worse. He's the weakest student in the academy." Weiss said natter of factly which caused said blonde to wince a bit.
"Come on Weisscream, leave Vomit boy alone for a bit yeah." Yang said as she also noticed him wince.
While Yang can't say that she is friends with him, they talk for sure, but they aren't that close. If she had to say, then it would be that they are closer to being friends at the moment.
Not to mention the fact that the guy is nice, and while she was initially suspicious of him, she had learned that he is a decent guy. Though that doesn't mean that she won't hurt him if he did anything that she didn't like towards Ruby.
"I will when he stops." Weiss said as she glared at Jaune as he flushed at her words.
'Oh come on. I was just trying to ask her out on a date!' Jaune thought to himself as he remembered the failed attempts at courting that he had done this week with no success as Weiss would rebuke his attempts.
"Alright alright, don't fight when we are having lunch." Blake said as she ate her tuna.
"You like tuna very much huh." Jaune said as he looked at the black haired girl's bow.
"I like eating fish." Blake said with a shrug as she ate.
"Nora, slow down." Ren said as she was eating a lot of pancakes simultaneously.
Nora mumbled with her mouth full of pancakes as Jaune sighed at the sight. Ren looked at his leader as Jaune took away the berserkers plate as she looked at him in shock.
"First eat what is in your mouth. I will give you your pancakes after that." Jaune said to her as Ren kept her in place as Pyrrha laughed lightly at that. Can't believe that Vomit big is able to handle her.' Yang thought to herself as she saw it.
Yang knew that if she tried anything like that then Nora wouldn't hesitate to break her legs as she would say like always.
Actually, scratch that, she did break the legs of her opponent in a match, the only reason the guy wasn't crippled was because of his aura and the fact that Beacon has very good medical equipment.
'Haah. I hope I will be able to do something and get stronger.' Jaune thought to himself as he watched Nora eating her food.
