Chapter 82 - PWA 82 Second Day on Jelly Bean Town

Jovanna named this combination move "Surprise!", as his Pokémon using it by Digging their way under the ground to later surprise the enemy with another kind of move.

Although Pin Missile or Mud Shot can also be used for Surprise! by shooting them as Zozo get out from underground to crash on to his enemy, but so far the move Headbutt is the most suitable move to be combined with Dig on this way.

Not only did the Headbutt is buffed by the charging power of Dig, but as it is Zozo's STAB move, it get even more powerful.

But the most advantage Zozo have from using this move combination is that he can combine those two moves so well and channel his energy so seamlessly that he almost didn't seem to need a rest after using that combination move!

He actually still need to rest and adjust himself, but unlike the other move combinations done by the other Pokémons in the team that make the user need to rest for 6 to 10 seconds after using the combination move, Zozo only need one or two breaths after using Dig + Headbutt before he can perfectly continue the battle and throw another moves.

This is practically cheating in its own way!

Oh boy, not only does Zozo have a perverted hobby collecting perverted things that fills up his pokeball's space, even his talent in combat is also very perverted!

That's a Three in One Pervert for me!

"Zig gy zig~" Zozo jumped back to the sandy ground by utilizing the leftover momentum of his Surprise! Move after he hits the Goldeen hard.

He then do a back somersault in the air before making a perfect three point landing with three of his limbs as his left paw is making a saluting gesture to his enemy.

Jovanna's beautiful lips are twitching seeing his Pokémon antics as he is still finding the chance to act cool in the middle of combat.

"So cool....." Jovanna's ears captured the melodious voice from the sexy blonde cutie in frilly pink bikini who stands on the opposite area fron him, the swimmer girl seems to be captivated by Zozo's cool acting despite her currently being their opponent.

Zozo took a breath in the moment to bask in the spotlight while he is actually resting and adjusting himself after using the (not so) taxing move combination.

"Goldeen, use Horn Attack!" Since Water Pulse is easily evaded by the Zigzagoon, the bikini girl commanded her Goldeen to use another move that can be executed more quickly.

"Zig gy zig~" the Zigzagoon make a taunting smirk as he throws up another Sand Attack to the Goldeen's eyes as the Goldfish Pokémon jumped from the water to attack him with its horn.

As the Goldeen is blinded by yet another Sand Attack on its eyes, Zozo easily moved out his way from the Goldeen's attack trajectory.

Easy dodge again!

"Zig gy zig~" Zozo swaggered and he walked out like a Chinese Second Generation Young Master, making the Goldeen feels irritable and it wanted to punches (or jab) on the Zigzagoon swag face with everything that it have.

The Goldeen's eyes becomes red, and a bloody crimson aura enveloped its body as the Goldfish Pokémon madly attempted to attack Zozo while it is still wriggling on the land!

Zozo's Swagger managed to get the Goldeen fall into confusion while also raising its Attack power tremendously.

"Zig gy zig~" Zozo easily evaded the crazy attacks from the Goldeen as he took some distance between them before he relaxedly shooting on the horned goldfish with his Pin Missile!

Pew pew pew pew pew!

Five pin missiles are fired successfully, each are making its mark on the Goldeen's body as it is still madly thrashing around on the sandy ground in the battle arena.

"Goldeen! Snap out of it and go back to water!" Its trainer shouted out her instruction, but alas the words from her seems to be falling on the deaf ears as the Goldeen still madly attempted to attack Zozo who keeps his safe distance away from the Goldeen.

And before my Zigzagoon managed to fire his second volley of Pin Missile, the Goldeen hurts itself so badly that it have fainted.

The second round ends, and I bag my second win!

After taking some moment resting by watching the ongoing match with Kotonoha, I finally go up to the third round as my name is called by the announcer.

"And for the third round of today's Single Duel Tournament, we have the competitor Jovanna on the blue side and our mouse trainer Terry on the red side!" The announcer excitedly called out the match with fervent spirit.

Oh wow, so I am now fighting the one of the pair we fought on yesterday's finale?

Let's go, Shion! Let's have a rematch against the Rat Man!

I sent out my Grass/Fairy Pokémon to the battle arena and Terry sent out a Cyndaquil to fight her.

Oh, whooops, seems Terry have correctly assumed that I will use my part Grass type starter Pokémon in this battle and he already anticipated it by sending a Fire type Pokémon.

Since this one is not on the Pokédex, let's scan it.

[Cyndaquil, the Fire Mouse Pokémon, is a Fire type Pokémon.]

[Cyndaquil has a timid nature and always curls itself up in a ball. If it is being attacked, it will protects itself by flaring up the flames on its back. The flames are vigorous if the Pokémon is angry. However, if it is tired, the flames splutter fitfully with incomplete combustion. Though a Cyndaquil usually curled into a ball due to its timid disposition, it harbors a tremendous amount of firepower.]

[This Cyndaquil have the Ability Flash Fire, and it knows the move Double Kick (Egg Move), Leer, Tackle, Smokescreen, Ember and Quick Attack.

...

A Fire Mouse and it's a timid creature to boot, a Cyndaquil reminds me of the mythical creature Hinezumi (the name literally means Fire Mouse) in the Far East Legends and Folklores, they are said to be brave when the flame clad on their bodies burn brilliantly, but throw them some water and douse their flames and they will become a shy, timid and cowardly being.

"Shion, prepare for Surprise! The Sand first!" Since the enemy have a type advantage, I better take command in this duel and decided to open the battle by using a new combination of Ground type move that would be super effective against the Cyndaquil with another bonus at the end of it.

*Swish* Terry make a quick motion with his hand, he really don't talk much just like a certain mouse character from the cartoon that is titled by their names, huh?

The Cyndaquil make its response by moving so quickly that it seems like it is teleported from the place it is before to right in front of my Pokémon, attacking the Wooxie with a simple charge before it return back to where it was before.

Shion who is being hit by the Quick Attack continue on with her Dig and she managed to flee underground just before a gout of flame from the Cyndaquil's Ember burned the place she was digging in before.

Fuuuhhh..... That was close. At least my Shion just take a hit from a weak Quick Attack instead of a super effective Ember.

And now, it's time for revenge!

*Crack crash!!!!* The ground split open as my Wooxie emerged from underground, the momentum behind the Ground type move Dig crashed upon the Cyndaquil that have been hit by Shion.

And with a Bonus, we added Sand Attack after that.

Yup, similar to Zozo's moves combination "Surprise!", Shion also have learned to combine Dig with the other moves to make her own "Surprise!" Attacks.

This is the version, with her using Dig at first and as she crashed upon her enemy, she also used Sand Attack to throw some sand right towards their eyes on point blank range.

"Next Surprise! The Loud ones!" I commanded Shion who immediately dig her way back to the underground as the Cyndaquil is still recovering from the double surprise attacks.

The fire mouse rubbed on its eyes with its paws and shakes its head furiously in its attempts to clear out the sand from its eyes.

Terry is clearly not happy, he clicked his tongue while making a blowing motion with his mouth while his hand is blocking it in a waving motion.

[ ] Author's Note [ ]

In the older generation of Pokémon games, Cyndaquil can evolve to become a Quilava when they just reached Level 14. However, in the newest generation of the games, a Cyndaquil need to reach at least Level 17 before they can naturally evolve to become a Quilava. Obviously, their moves learnset are also changed significantly from generation to generation.
