Ulysses did not continue the conversation, because he knew he had touched on a complicated subject.
He took Matthew's positive opinion of his internal government model as confirmation that they were doing things right.
"My brother is waiting for you inside, Mr. Matthew," he said, stopping in front of the Clan's visiting room.
"Very well. Thank you for your guidance," he replied casually, before entering without asking permission.
On the other side, a handsome man with a trimmed beard and slicked-back hair was waiting for him, with a woman behind him.
This woman...
She made Matthew smile.
After the three of them entered, the back door closed and Matthew nodded.
"Better than I expected, then. For you to be there means your work has been splendid," he said.
The woman removed the mask covering her features.
