"No need for such anger, Spirit King. Allow me to introduce myself—Leon Kruger, the Fated One."
The introduction made the man and woman flinch. Their mouths fell open, and their hearts raced.
They had not expected that the man standing before them was the Fated One.
With a stiff motion, the man turned to Ruri and asked, "Is it true?"
Ruri sighed softly and nodded. "Yeah, he's the Fated One—and the one who saved me. Didn't I tell you not to get angry first? Now you've offended him, and I can't step in."
Her expression was helpless as she shook her head, clearly unwilling to get involved.
"You…" The man swallowed hard, then glanced at his wife for help, but she only shook her head.
In the end, he looked back at Leon with an embarrassed, awkward expression.
"Fated One, I apologize," he said quickly, bowing his head. "I didn't realize it was you. Please forgive my earlier foolishness."
Had he known Leon was the Fated One, he would never have dared to act so rashly.
