"What's going on?" Focused on his battle with Marcus, Martian Manhunter hadn't paid attention to Kara's side of the fight. Consequently, he was unprepared for what had just happened.
Marcus had died so quickly that Martian Manhunter had no time to react or intervene. He could only watch as Marcus's life force and power completely vanished.
"Hmm?" Martian Manhunter's keen senses quickly picked up on the power disappearing from Marcus's body. He immediately pursued it, but even with his speed, he couldn't catch up. The power slipped through the still-healing breach in the mirrored space created by William.
This mirrored space was more fragile than the one Robert was fighting in. Unlike Baron Mordo's space, it lacked the support of multiple sorcerers and magical artifacts. Furthermore, Kaecilius was constantly opening portals to bring in Tony Stark's mech suits and other weapons, making it less stable.
If William and Marcus hadn't been suppressed by Kara and Martian Manhunter, they might have broken free from this mirrored space. The remaining vampire prince, however, didn't have the strength for such a feat.
"What exactly is happening?" Seeing Martian Manhunter also pursuing the energy, Kara asked with a puzzled expression, "Is that vampire dead too? Did his power escape?"
"Correct…" Martian Manhunter nodded, his eyes flickering as he contemplated the recent events. "From what I deduce, they didn't escape on their own; they genuinely died."
"Then their power… hmm?! Their power was bestowed by that ancestor of theirs, meaning the ancestor reclaimed their power?" Kara's face showed concern as she pieced together Martian Manhunter's deductions.
"Don't worry, you're just overthinking this. If that ancestor had the upper hand, he wouldn't need to reclaim their powers. Frankly, these powers might be formidable for vampires and werewolves, but they are insignificant compared to the Saiyan's demonstrated combat strength…" Martian Manhunter smiled and shook his head reassuringly.
"Previously, the Saiyan's combat strength was enough to annihilate those two, and that was without using their trump card. You should be more aware of the Saiyan's power than I am, right?"
"So, by your logic, these two powers aren't very significant. Why would their ancestor reclaim them?" Kara's expression eased slightly, but the confusion in her eyes remained. She asked again, puzzled.
"Uh…" Martian Manhunter hesitated, unsure of Alexander's intentions. He didn't even know the current state of the battle between Alexander and Robert.
However, from Martian Manhunter's perspective, even if Alexander reclaimed the two powers, it wouldn't change the battle. These powers were nothing compared to Robert's level. Unless these powers hid something Martian Manhunter and Kara hadn't noticed in their previous fights!
"Dimensional power?" Martian Manhunter recalled the dimensional power linked to the bat-werewolf abominations. Though it had barely manifested, what if Alexander, who granted the powers to vampires and werewolves, had more specialized abilities?
When Robert chased Alexander and he was exposed, Martian Manhunter hadn't sensed the vampire or werewolf aura from him. He speculated that Alexander might have bestowed that part of his power to William and Marcus and needed to reclaim it to reconnect with the dimensional power.
"What's wrong?" Noticing Martian Manhunter's sudden silence and thoughtful expression, Kara grew nervous again. Her brows furrowed as she considered leaving the mirrored space.
"It's just a theory. Let's first deal with that vampire prince. The Avengers can handle the aftermath, and then we'll contact Kamar-Taj to see if we can reach the Saiyan's location…" Martian Manhunter finally spoke after a moment of contemplation.
"Bang!" As Martian Manhunter spoke, the vampire prince suddenly exploded into a cloud of blood, startling the nearby Avengers.
"Shhh!" Instantly, a terrifying heat vision incinerated the blood mist, leaving nothing behind.
"Gulp!" Someone among the Avengers swallowed nervously, seeing this display of power. Kara had acted before Martian Manhunter could finish his sentence, driven by her own impatience.
Seeing Kara's sudden and overwhelming display of power, Martian Manhunter's face stiffened slightly. He had to admit that while Martian genetics were impressive, they fell short compared to Kryptonians.
"Let's go!" Kara glanced around the mirrored space, already showing signs of wanting to break through it.
"Buzz!" At that moment, a portal of fiery rings appeared in the mirrored space, created by Kaecilius, who had sensed the changes within.
"Hold on, I'm contacting Baron Mordo. We can't enter their mirrored space directly; we need to understand the situation first to avoid any surprises…" Concerned about Kara's impatience, Kaecilius quickly advised her and began contacting Baron Mordo.
When Marcus and William's powers vanished from the mirrored space, they reappeared in the void outside the mirrored space where Robert and Alexander were fighting.
However, while they had escaped the previous mirrored space due to its flaws, entering the new mirrored space wasn't so simple. Even though they had locked onto Alexander's location, the powers couldn't easily penetrate this mirrored space.
"This won't work! At this rate, their powers can't get in, and I can't turn the tide…" Inside the mirrored space, Alexander was still being beaten by Robert, unable to fight back. Distracted by the outside powers trying to get in, Alexander's situation worsened.
Of course, Alexander had improved slightly in combat experience and technique, but it wasn't enough to contend with Robert, whose combat power kept rising.
Thus, Alexander planned to reclaim William and Marcus's powers and, if possible, the powers of all vampires and werewolves. Unfortunately, he had absolute control only over the powers he bestowed upon William and Marcus. The others were evolved by William and Marcus.
If they were closer, Alexander might have reclaimed their powers too. But separated by infinite distance and two mirrored spaces, reclaiming William and Marcus's powers was already an impressive feat.
"Distracted during our fight?" Robert noticed Alexander's diminished resistance, realizing he might be planning to use a trump card. This piqued Robert's interest.
After all, constantly beating a punching bag, while satisfying, wasn't very stimulating. With his combat power surpassing Alexander's, Robert wanted to see what trump card Alexander had.
He also hadn't forgotten about the vampires and werewolves' origin dimension.
Even though Alexander's lineage of vampires and werewolves seemed doomed, vampires and werewolves weren't limited to his lineage. Robert had only encountered one bat-werewolf formed from resentment and hadn't yet found the true location of the vampires and werewolves' origin dimension.
This was an issue that needed resolving. Even if he couldn't solve it permanently, understanding the origin dimension was better than facing a complete unknown when they made their move.
Robert punched Alexander, sending him flying and causing his blood to splatter. This wasn't the first time Alexander had been injured in this fight, but it was the first time he could somewhat act autonomously.
It was a sad fact that Alexander hadn't even found a chance to act independently throughout the battle, constantly beaten by Robert, much like Frieza being pummeled by Broly, only worse because Alexander's beating lasted far longer.
"An opportunity!" Unaware that Robert had intentionally given him a chance, Alexander finally found a moment to catch his breath and merge with the incoming powers.
"Buzz!" As Alexander focused, his aura suddenly expanded, shaking the surrounding mental barriers and even the mirrored space, as he pushed his power in one direction.
"Damn, I shouldn't have believed this guy had a trump card and the resolve to fight. He's trying to escape again!" Misunderstanding Alexander's actions, Robert's face darkened as he vanished and reappeared in front of Alexander, determined not to let him flee.
Knowing Alexander's nature, Robert realized if he escaped now, he might never show up again, making it extremely difficult to find and capture him later.
"Bang!" Just as Alexander felt a surge of joy from merging the two powers, Robert's punch sent him flying again. He felt a weightless sensation as he was repeatedly struck by powerful forces, unable to catch his breath, let alone retaliate.
"Damn it!" Filled with rage but powerless, Alexander found himself in a stalemate again, just as he had been when Robert hadn't held back earlier.
"Buzz!" At that moment, the situation changed. The two powers finally broke through into the mirrored space, though they couldn't penetrate the mental barriers.
However, their arrival was enough for Robert to notice. He realized that Alexander's earlier surge wasn't an escape attempt but preparation for using his trump card against him.
"Interesting! A change of heart?" Robert, intrigued, punched Alexander away and laughed. "Is this your trump card? It doesn't seem like much. It looks like the powers of those two vampires and werewolves. Do you think these powers can help you turn the tide?"
Robert recognized that these powers might connect to the vampires and werewolves' origin dimension, but he didn't show it. Instead, he taunted Alexander.
"Damn it!" Finally finding another moment to breathe, Alexander wiped the blood from his mouth and glared at Robert. "If you think so little of these powers, let them in… hmm?!"
Before Alexander could finish, the two powers hovered in front of him and then merged into his body in an instant.
