A bitter taste filled his mouth. He hadn't forgotten the Beta's earlier derision, the way he'd dismissed his suggestion and called him a snitch for suggesting going to Aceco. Darius thought just because he had suggested it before and Rhett discarded it, Rhett coming to the Alpha with the same suggestion seemed hypocritical.
Wasn't that supposed to mean Rhett agreed to it because he didn't see any other options?
Even if the Vampires hadn't died, he doubted they would succumb to torture and sell their kind out. Either way, they were dead. Now, with the situation at the dungeon, it seemed his plan was the only option left.
"Greetings, Alpha Beowulf. It is disheartening to hear that our prisoners had died a useless death." Rhett began. "How did this happen?" he asked, forcing a steady tone.
The Beta, as stocky as he was turned to Rhett with a perpetual scowl and sneered. "Why don't you find out yourself, Gamma?"
