Sha's POV
"Mga tarantado kayo!" Eduardo cussed out at us. "Mga manloloko!"
I don't understand what he was saying because it was in Tagalog, one of the major languages of the Philippines and one of its two official languages alongside English (I was quite surprised at the latter language.)
But then, Croix grabbed Eduardo's shirt and said at him with a glare so intensely you would be guaranteed to be quieted by it. "Wala kang magawa ngayon, dahil ikaw ay mamatay dito kasama ang mga kasabwat mo…"
Because of that, Eduardo threatened to report this to the president of the country, but this was short-lived when Croix revealed that Simon had known of his crimes and had given his approval to delete him and his accomplices from existence. Eduardo was horrified that Simon, a man whom he had voted for in a recent presidential election a few years ago, would do something atrocious (in his eyes at least) towards him like that. It was, obviously, because of his atrocious crimes against the innocent folks of this country, his own fellow citizens!!!
And then, Croix got some updates from Mario and another superior of his in the NBI regarding more crimes committed by the 7 corrupt police officers, and he was shocked even more. "What is it, Croix-san?" Bokuto asked upon seeing his expression.
Instead of answering Bokuto-kun's question, Croix looked at the 7 corrupt cops and demanded, "Sino sa inyo ang nagsugal ng pera sa krimen na ito!"
The scene was intensified because of that, and the 7 corrupt idiots cowered in fear as Croix's question demanded answers.
Again, I had no idea what he was asking, so I turned to Hoshi, "You can speak in Tagalog, right?"
"Yes, I can, Sha-sensei," Hoshi, who looked shocked and horrified by what Croix just shouted, responded. "Why?"
"What Croix-san was saying?"
"Apparently, some of the corrupt officers used the money from this crime to gamble for more money."
I was shocked and taken aback by that translation, and Taro and Bokuto were as shocked as I.
"G-Gambling?!" Taro commented.
"Come on!" Bokuto was annoyed as hell. "Seriously?!"
Upon hearing that, Croix responded to them, "Yes, and apparently, two of these bozos did that, one owed 50,000 pesos to a casino and 25,000 pesos to a sabungan."
Sabungan…what is that?
"That's a cockfighting arena in Tagalog," Hoshi responded back.
Hearing that, I, a tourist in this country, was so disappointed that two of the bozos would ever do that even though they are police officers (I'm not sure if that was ever allowed in their code of conduct…).
Croix and his team felt so betrayed by the 7 corrupt cops, especially with two of them having used the money from this scheme to gamble for more of them.
And so, the corrupt cops who gambled with the dirty money admitted.
In turn, Croix nodded seriously, before questioning them and the other 5 regarding other crimes Mario had uncovered less than an hour ago.
The corrupt admitted them straight and clear as day.
Seriously…what the heck is going on with this country?
And then, some of the spirits of the victims of this crime case appeared and started mocking Eduardo-san and his accomplices for getting caught in their tails of their heinous crimes. We all heard that and looked at them, and Eduardo and a few of his accomplices even tried to blame them for getting involved in this case in the first place and became victims as a result. This really pissed off my students, especially Hoshi himself. However, Manuel-kun said to Eduardo straight and with anger on his face, "Ikaw ang mastermind dito! I had enough of your bullshit, so sinadya ko maging biktima para mapigilan ang mga kagagawan ninyo."
"Oo nga!" said one of the spirits, who was that schoolboy from Manuel's neighborhood. "Mga mamatay-tao kayo! Walang hiya kayo!"
The other spirits kept on hurling karmic insults on the suspects of this case.
Now it seemed that Eduardo and his accomplices had no escape in this, and Eduardo seemed to accept his fate here. And so, Croix had them executed by his team, one by one. As for Eduardo's body, they hung it on one of the beams on the ceiling of the depot, with his neck being hung by the noose of the rope to look as if Eduardo had hung himself. But, neither I nor my students were involved in their execution. And then, one of the NBI agents attached a sign on Eduardo's torso that, when translated into Japanese from English, says, "I am a monster."
That sounds cruel, but I know that they deserved it after all.
